We lost because we couldn’t stop Murray. We were 13 points away from winning three of those games. Forcing Murray to miss just 2 additional shots each game and we would have been up 3-1. That’s why Vincent was so crucial. Look at Murray’s shooting vs Miami vs what it was against LA. Vincent a huge part of that and before you say it, Miami played the same drop coverage against Denver that we did. Vincent just contested shots a lot better than any of our guards did.

Theres only 1 guy holding the MVP trophies. And it ain't the guard

And you really think some 12 million dollar center is going to make a difference? At all? They are not. AD did the best job of anyone in the playoffs against him.
You beat the Nuggets by outplaying everyone else. We have the team to do that now.

Well just agree to disagree. This ain't Lakers ground., So I ain't gonna argue just to be argumentative .
But at least we standing on the same side wanting the same thing. LAKER success. Peace out

I can’t wait until the new season starts….

Hope this team can stay healthy. I have no doubt this team can contend.

Ham is super stoked right now...

Waste of money to spend any real money on centers… not like we’d play them anyway. Don’t think we’ve had any playable centers during AD’s tenure. McGee and Howard doesn’t count.

We could have gone after brolo w mle. We also could have offered 17, bamba and Beasley and some seconds for kp. That’s way more than the wiz got from Boston. We had our fair share of shots this off-season, just didn’t capitalize on them. Brolo w a top 3 defensive forward is a title team. Now add in LBJ/reaves instead of Middleton/jrue and you’re odds on favorite to win it all easily. Kp/Davis two mobile tall bigs that can cover ground on pick n rolls also. We could have been elite

Prince + filler for Kobe Bryant
To be honest the way Prince has played and with Kobes injury/age/mileage Im not sure I would do that deal either. Still Prince is more important and he wins the head to head battles with Kobe.

Thrilled w the rui resigning. He’s a stud and I think he has top 15 pf potential even though he’s in his mid 20s

Big time retaining Rui. Solid midrange. Capable 3. Will swat and pin your shot if need be. Length. Size. Solid move

I agree with you heavily. Vincent’s stats if you look at the full seasons show he’s not a good three point shooter. I hope the lakers didn’t just waste their biggest FA capspace signing an undrafted guy who happened to have a hot streak in the post season.

Hassan Whiteside, Tyler Johnson, Josh Richardson, Kendrick Nunn etc etc all looked great under Spo and Miami’s great system of maximizing their strengths and masking their weaknesses, somewhat inflated their value.
Hopefully he can still hit his shots and play good defense. That Nunn acquisition was a failure.

Where we at currently?

PG: Gabe Vincent | (D’Angelo Russell) | (Jalen Hood-Schifino)
SG: (Austin Reaves) | Max Christie | Cam Reddish
SF: Jarred Vanderbilt | Taurean Prince
PF: LeBron James | Rui Hachimura
Cc: Anthony Davis |

Is that right?

I’m digging it. Would love another center and a sniper SG from deep.

I would love to see us sign jay huff. He looked real good for Washington and he just gets better every year. The film on him screams upside to be a solid role player

Because there are a lot of key teams that are quiet right now seemingly waiting to make moves, and there aren't a lot of big name players left on the table... I'm feeling like the whole Harden trade demand may fizzle out which will leave some other teams desperate...
That said, there's not a lot of cap space out there right now, so who knows...

It's either that Reaves is doing us a solid by not committing yet until we get another piece or 2, or someone else is in his ear...

I don't see how that would happen, because his first year is fixed due to the Arenas contract thing, and the only way we would lose him is if the FO decides to not match his offer, which I can't see happening no matter the price tag.

I think the Spurs will probably screw us and force us to pay more for him than we would like, but I don't see him going anywhere unless there is some master S&T farfetched deal in the works.

Dlo is the more interesting case....I'm curious why somethings hasn't been announced yet regarding that.

8 teams have actually had any decent level of capspace to start free agency.

-Rockets are out of the running with the FVV deal.
-Kings are gone because of the money they just commited to Barnes, Lyles and extra salary incoming with Suarte
-Pacers are out with the Brown deal
-Pistons absorbed Harris' contract so they are out
-OKC absorbed Oladipos contract so they are out
-The Magic signed Ingles and should be out of the running

That just leaves the Spurs and the Jazz, and I'm not exactly sure what the Jazz could offer with Clarkson opting in. The only threat is the Spurs, and they are a dangerous one indeed. I could see them offering the max for Reeves if they don't find a salary dump/absorb asset type of trade.

The Lakers should, and will still match though!

I love the moves so far. Rui is a couple million higher from where I wanted him. But other than that, we added two playoff caliber pieces in the place of Beasley and Bamba.

Now, if we can get Bamba or Plumlee on a minimum - that’ll be a dream to the off season.

The Cam Reddish signing has Rich Paul fingerprints on it. I agree they need a sniper and they could have gone after Seth Curry who was acquired by Dallas for just Just 4 mil. Cam is a bad shooter, career 32% from 3 and is not a great defender either.
My hope is that Max Christie has developed his handles and continued to work on his shooting form.

So we actually still have Beasley's bird rights

Rumors of discussions going into friday evening of his return on a smaller deal

With around 20mill in space, would you prefer DLo, or split between Lonnie & Malik

I want to know where the Vincent signing leaves Dlo, especially if Reaves resigns. Doubt he wants to come off the bench. Hopefully a S&T?
