Re: Lakers offseason 2023
I didn’t catch much of the Heat regular games last season since they pretty much sucked for most of it.
Anyway, Heat fans are saying Vincent is trash and good riddance
How true is this ? Based on my limited sample size during the last playoffs, he seemed OK.

Re: Lakers offseason 2023
Guys gabe Vincent cannot be the starting pg lol. 33% shooter who can’t pass. Also it would imply jhs for big time backup minutes which isn’t happening. Dlo MUST be back but I don’t get what the holdup could possibly be. If robs plan is to let dlo and Schroeder be replaced by just Vincent we failed massively this off-season.
I give ham a lot of sht but apparently ham wanted Dennis back over Vincent. I can sorta understand the sentiment. Schroeder put up better stats and literally willed us to victory multiple times. I think we will miss having a Pg that gets to the line super easily and is a legit thief on defense

Warspite:
Prince + filler for Kobe Bryant
To be honest the way Prince has played and with Kobes injury/age/mileage Im not sure I would do that deal either. Still Prince is more important and he wins the head to head battles with Kobe.

Would Bucks entertain a D’Lo sign and trade part deus for Brook Lopez?

Having this year's cap situation unaffected by any bids, I see Reaves as a lock for us. I'm more afraid of losing Russell: we desperately need a third quality guard - who can shoot and create plays. If we sign him, then we shall be fine: I don't see any issues with finding rotation level centers for vet min and an additional guard to mitigate the uncertainty that comes w/ Christie's and Hood-Schifino's level of play.
But if not, then we are screwed. I don't see any player out there who we can get and who contributes as much as him. If we don't sign him - and take the cap space route - the best we can get is the caliber of Lonnie or Beasley. A guard rotation of Reaves, Gabe and (let's say) Lonnie as a core, will lead us nowhere. That's a clear downgrade from last year and will lead us being play-in candidates again...

I really don’t understand that Cam Reddish signing, especially so early in the process.

Klutch clients they signed before like Ben McClemore, Jr Smith, Waiters, Nunn etc had holes in their game but at least they can shoot.
JTA, Troy Brown at least can play decent defense but this Cam Reddish guy is a career 32% shooter who can’t play good defense.
Rob could have gone after guys like Josh Richardson, Justin Holiday, players who are decent doing both,
Or shooters like Seth, Ross. Etc

Vet min contract, and still have room for a couple of others. Not much risk there.

Wild guess, reclamation project ad Loonie Walke IV last season and Malik Monk the season before.
I don't know if Prince is better than Stanley Johnson who can play from 2-4. Wouldn't mind him also as insurance with a Vet min

Two possible hold-ups on a Dlo signing: (1) They are still trying to out together a sign-and-trade, or (2) They want to sign the small pieces first to know exactly how much left to offer Dlo while staying under the tax apron of $172 million.

I don't see us needing any more wings. (Considering Davis as a full time C) we have James, Vando, Rui, Prince, Reddish, Lewis and Christie all capable playing there.

Re: Lakers offseason 2023
We just got our backup big.
Jaxson Hayes.
Contrary to the beliefs around here, it's pretty clear Davis is still the full time center. That's not changing.
Hayes provides some backup relief if we don't want to go small when he sits.

Great signing to take the occasional 15 mins. We shall just concentrate on resigning Russell and Reaves and take for example McGruder and Huff (or Tristan). If we can do this, we had a quite solid offseason.

Yes. We are strong at the wing. Have this recommendation just in case both James and AD got hurt, you need more legs. Maxwell and JHS will be solid soon but not at the beginning of the season or the first half of the season. I cannot count on Christie and Reddish to take up big productive minutes just yet until i see them play real games. Onr more versatile 3&D guy doesn't hurt. Maybe a Christian wood for instant firepower is another route to go.
Mixed feeling about the Vincent signing though. I'd rather split the MLE for josh richardson (7M) and a servicable pg like corey Joseph.
Vincent may be bad for stretches. He always come up big at the bigger stage. It reminds me of Fisher. Not mad with this signing.
Just that it can be better? I really don't know

Really liking our team so far.
Younger, athletic, defensive oriented, and deep.
We need some more scoring and 3 point shooting though.
And one more big
