We need to free up some money if we get the Dame trade done with a 3rd or 4th team. I want access to this exception, there’s some solid pickups

I still don’t understand what blazers and dame are doing

Blazers seem content to hold on to dame for nostalgia/ticket sales while developing their young core with no shot at really competing and treadmilling rather than going all in

Dame seems happy just to get paid in Portland

It’s 5 mil while the vet mins are going for 3 and change. It’s there but they probably don’t need it. The flexibility is there to sign a few more of these discounted players.

I can’t imagine this dude in a Heat uniform. He will get a tech in the final 5 seconds of a game 7 in the NBA Finals to send us home.

You're the 2nd poster to say that and OK ... but I don't get it. I rip guys on OUR team. I'm certainly not holding my fire on opposing players which is what they are now. I don't feel like I owe players gratitude for doing the job they are paid to do. Often times not very well. But mostly I don't get objecting to calling bull on claims of great performance by simply pointing at the data and saying "show me".

Neither guy is good. Neither played well consistently. Their overall body of work makes clear that nothing of value was lost. I'm sorry if that upsets people, but I'm not getting gaslit into believing that up is down and down is up, and I'm not going to get pressured into remaining silent so that others can get gaslit without pushback.

Some people enjoy sports as an outlet to degrade and berate the players on the very team they’re presumably rooting for. I find it strange and cringe af. But I understand the dynamic exists.

Is it really someone trying to degrade a player if you're being honest? For instance I don't understand rooting for lesser players to be brought back when they should be somewhat easily replaceable. I've seen way too many smaller guards in the NBA be able to put up nice scoring numbers when allowed to shoot vs run the offense and the plays dictate the higher priced players getting most of the shots.

What people don't seem to get is that to be in the NBA, especially at a smaller position you're going to be highly skilled already, you just need an opportunity/role to put up numbers. Since the big 3 you'd think Miami fans would be use to this with lesser players coming to Miami and putting up good stats because of a good coach who gives out consistent roles, basically empowering his lesser talented players to put up numbers. The one great factor Miami has that a lot of franchises don't have is consistency where you keep building instead of just making a massive change in the path moving forward, this coach loves this guy, the next coach doesn't and with that they have to work on building up another player from scratch.

Looking around in the NBA, Miami is one of the best franchises to follow for a fan of a team and you guys are very lucky because a lot of fans don't have a good organization to follow. You could be Philly who keeps having turnover in the FO where they make drastic swings in the way they're building a team and never have the success they should have with their talent. Cone on, acquiring 3 centers in the top 6 of a draft (2 of them top 3 picks) 3 years in a row... Embiid, Noel and Okafor.
