Other than being tall what does he provide? He is a career 4rpg 0.7 bpg 28.8%3pt and is a poor passer averaging as many turnovers as assists per game. That to me says he isn't worth the potential off court issues.

I want us to get a young center and young wing. I think Grant goes around the deadline...there is also talk that Grant could be switched to a sign and trade. There is a whole lot of confusion surrounding the Grant contract.

Speaking of Ayton (OP), I wonder if they would be interested in something like Nurk + Herro for Ayton, with Dame going to Miami, and Portland getting Ayton. The Suns get a less expensive, but solid starting center and another piece for their win now mode. Of course other assets might need to be included to balance things out.

I think converting Dame and Nurk into Ayton would be a decent get for Portland. Ayton is young, locked up 3 more years, fills a need.

If a team offered us a #1 pick for Dame and Ayton was the guy in the draft I think we'd consider that fair deal.
