Wenyen & Tristan?

Feel like having them with Hayes behind AD gives us decent depth with 4 diff options at Center

Thinking we’re losing too much PG defense without Schroeder.

Edit: I’m all for T Thompson.

People calling jaxson Hayes our backup big…. He’s going to start 30+ games fellas and play over 25 mins in those games. I know NOTHING about him if im being honest. Anybody know if he can defend the rim respectably enough when ad doesn’t play? Our interior defense was so bad we were losing to bottom barrell teams when ad missed games
Warspite:

Prince + filler for Kobe Bryant
To be honest the way Prince has played and with Kobes injury/age/mileage Im not sure I would do that deal either. Still Prince is more important and he wins the head to head battles with Kobe.

Thank you.

He's weird, because he's shown ability to switch and defend all over, he's pretty high energy, and he's even flashed shooting ability. But he doesn't put it all together often, and he'll just be a complete bonehead for long stretches.

If he gets paid, it'll be purely on potential, but I wouldn't be shocked at all if he goes somewhere and plays much better on his second contract. It was just hard finding minutes for him with a pretty crowded front court when Zion was healthy, and even when he wasn't, you have solid, savvy vets like Jonas V, LArry Nance, and even Willy Hernangomez to try and beat out.

I asked the Pelicans board about Hayes earlier this off-season and that was what they said.

Seems like our typical buy low player with upside still.

It’s always been an opportunity thing missing for Hayes and I think he finally has one now.

Our roster currently is:

Vincent/JHS/
Reaves/Christie/Lewis
Rui/Prince/Cam
LeBron/Vando
AD/Hayes

We’ll have two more guys. I’m assuming one will be D-Lo.

With the other spot, I’d love Bamba but would be content with Wenyen.

So did Swider every time he was put in an nba game (even preseason). Couldn’t hit a 3 to save his life and sucked on d. at least huff has clearly improved and is a position of need. He put up better stats than bamba last season albeit limited sample size

Vet min contract, and still have room for a couple of others. Not much risk there.

Risk is not necessarily the issue, roster spot is. I would’ve preferred if we filled out our roster first then look at scrubs like him for the last spot or two. It’s not like teams are lining up for his services. Like Tamara mentioned, he’s neither a shooter nor a defender. Who need does he actually fill?

Not that it matters much, but he was the DPOY of the G-League last year. He is tall, and his strengths are shooting and rim protection - which are our needs.

Of course his strengths can (or probably will) be still subpar in NBA standards but he would absolutely worth a two-way contract.

Jaxson Hayes.

Contrary to the beliefs around here, it's pretty clear Davis is still the full time center. That's not changing.
Hayes provides some backup relief if we don't want to go small when he sits.

It's clear they want AD to play full time center... It's also clear he doesn't like and can't sustain it... So we're having an is/should be discussion...

Sure you could use a gold bar for a doorstop... But should you?

Not excited by the trend here, a lot of inexperienced playoff players still puts a ton of pressure on the two most likely to be broken down at the end of the season. The fact that we're still entertaining Russell is disheartening however the only way it's a positive is that we're not entertaining Paul.

Our 4 guard rotation of Russell, Reaves, Vincent and Christie is very good.

Our forwards rotation of LeBron, Rui, Vando and Prince is tough, versatile and big.

Our bigs of AD and Hayes are good and athletic.

Yeah…it’s a hell of a team. Just a really good 10 man rotation. No reason for LeBrom to play more than 28 minutes per night.

Plus lots of tradeable contracts if we need to, no bad deals to worry about. Pelinka just out here hitting home runs left and right.

Return to Los Angeles Lakers
