I am happy that late game Dame "hero ball" is finally ending, looking forward to a faster pace game with the youngins and some better D

And the next Q is whether Chauncy is the right coach for this "new team"

I guess Ant is staying now unless our FO will be carried away by kind of a miraculous offer..
And we need to move on from Nurk as soon as possible. Just use that MLE money to sign a young bigmen.

I wouldnt assume Scoot doesn't start from day 1. 1 we have nothing to lose and 2 he may be that good from anything I've heard and seen

Hopefully we get a big man or wing in a dame trade

Well, Simons was mostly a poor fit next to Lillard. I’m less inclined to trade him if Lillard is gone…but that being said a package of Lillard and Ant could fetch quite a lot.

The real question is what to do with Nurk now. I’m guessing the Blazers will have to attach him to positive value (Any) in order to get anything worthwhile.

I say keep him, He seemed to play well with Ant, his contract is not horrible and quite honestly we don't have anyone to replace him with. Nurk is the least of my worries right now.

Woj saying Portland will still sign Grant, but none of us are surprised. No one is - you can't pull a contract back like that at all, especially since the FA money that is similar is generally gone now.

It's a tough day for a lot of folks in Portland, lets all be respectful and let folks be upset about the end of an era. There were a lot of good times but also a lot of things that were hard, a lot of organizational issues that prevented it from being great. And those failures are hard to face knowing the chance to rectify and change them has closed. I don't know if grief is the right word but this is the right space for us to support each other in our disappointment, it isn't how any of us wanted this to end but it may have been inevitable.

Now that the Dame "situation" is going to need resolved, can we sneak Obi Toppin from the Knicks? I mean currently he's likely headed to IND who just drafted Jarace Walker. They are sending NY 2 second round picks. Could we offer them 3 and pritch-slap Pritchard?
From Portland to Reno to Vegas to LA to SLC and on to HotLanta. Winning at life. Too Blessed to be Stressed

I don't think the Knicks would back out of the trade once it leaked.

I have been pro rebuild since the end of last season, which does not mean I was ever anti Dame, just we needed to move our separate ways. It's a year late but whatever I am stoked!!! Hopefully Dame can be placed in a winning situation, and we can build a new dynasty built around a complete team! The writing was in the wall for me when Schmitz was brought in.

I wish him all the best as the Blazers GOAT and someday we will sign him to a one day contract and he can retire as ours.

However what do we do now?

Clyde did the same thing with much less drama . His departure from Portland was far more amicable
for this could have been done by now if Dame had simply and clearly stated his intentions. Dame
deserves some of the blame for the ongoing drama.

Portland in the end has to do what's in the best long term interests of the club. They are not a playoff
contender even with Dame and win now pieces. They will however have added Sharpe and Scoot in
the last two drafts and if they can get useful pieces from a Dame trade and add another top 3 pick
in the 2024 draft, their team would well on their way to retooling their team for better times in 2025
and beyond, for the pieces in place can't leave in free agency

There is no reason for grief. If you have followed this team since the 1977 season as I have, the breakup of the
championship team, Clyde's teams and the entire Greg Oden saga was far more painful.

It's simply the end of the Lillard era and we'll soon see the start of the Scoot/Sharpe era. Team will be young
but with youth, there guys will play hard and make mistakes and hopefully will learn from their mistakes. This
time, take their time and do a proper rebuild for the team in 2025 with assets from a Lillard trade, top 3 pick
in the 2024 draft added to Scoot/Sharpe could be good.
