Yeah, the Blazers will get the best deal. I know everyone is listening to the new kid saying it's the heat, but the heat have a poo poo platter compared to ours and other deals. One thing not being discussed here is that the Blazers gave J Grant 160 million to try and win, and Dame still said he wanted to leave. That gives the Blazers leverage to say, look we tried to win, and and Dame still wanted to go....we need to get the best package for our team.

Even after that are you telling me the Blazers will feel obligated to trade Dame to where he wants to go?

Grant was going to be resigned no matter what for asset management, so that doesn't show anything about putting a team around Dame, since there was nothing the Blazers could do to make a contender in Dames time left anyways. That said, the Grant contract can't be signed yet till the 6th so there is a strong possibility it can be turned into a S&T for the team to bring back younger assets to add to their young duo of Scoot and Sharpe.

Um, Woj has confirmed what a few of us have been saying all day. Blazers are getting the best package.

What are you um'ing about? Woj isn't infallible. We'll see and if the Blazer's break their word to Dame and what they said outwardly, then good on them. They should maximize their return, screw what Dame wants.

They about to bend over and take Miami’s grotesque package.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

You're talking about courtesy. But if Raptors put forth an overwhelming offer and Blazer's Front office refuse and goes with the Heat package, that idiotic. Dame doesn't have a no trade clause like Beal. I'm not saying Portland will accept, but I'm saying this is the time for Masai to go all in with an overwhelming offer.

What do yo consider overwhelming that leaves the Raptors a contender with Lillard?

OG + GTJ + bunch of picks and swaps to start. I would even say Barnes + filler straight up if we are going for it. Poeltl, Pascal, OG, GTJ, Dame is a pretty good starting lineup. The question really is, what can other team like Miami can offer that can beat the package already. We aren't going anywhere and Masai has waited 3-4 years ever since Giannis signed his extension for another Kawhi's trade opportunity. If we are going for it, this will probably be the best star that we have a shot at.

But we won the title 4 years ago and pushed hard for a 2nd one even without KL. And Giannis signed his extension in 21 and won the title that year. Soooo, I don't get what you're saying bout Masai and the Giannis.

I was against moving Scottie for KD. Two years older, injury worries (played out that way), and Scottie was the ROTY, looking like the main bright spot going forward. Still stand behind that reasoning.

I could probably get behind moving Scottie for Dame. It's become apparent that we aren't going to build around him, and after his second year, I'm no longer convinced he's a guy to build around anyway. I can't see him being a top 5-10 player in the NBA... maybe not even top 25-30. Under other circumstances I would be fine waiting it out, but seeing him develop into a good second option on a treadmill team is not worth hanging onto. -

If the trade would be Scottie and filler (maybe a 1st and/or some swaps), I'm good with it. Scottie, another good piece, 2-3+ picks and swaps, much less so. So maybe there's no deal. I would consider Scottie to be a better asset than 4-5 late FRP, but the trade market for stars lately seems to be fixated on the quantity of picks, not the quality.

Somewhat ironically, I would have moved everything except Scottie for Scoot - so now that Portland has him, maybe they'll think the same way.

Masai needs to call up Portland and at least make an offer.

I would go with Scottie + Boucher + Porter + Thad + 2027 pick. I think this beats the Heat offer by a mile and likely whatever the Nets can give up.

Lillard is 33 so we will have a 2-3 year window to contend. With the Sixers, Bucks, Heat all aging, we only have to beat the Celtics to get to the finals. I think it's worth it.

If we're not doing that then we need to trade Pascal and go into full rebuild.

Toronto’s dick fell and they rose to the occasion when called for.
I believe in Masai.

Our best case scenario is still finding a way to get a huge trade exception from the Rockets for Fred. I'd like to add Flynn and keep Porter because we need his shooting since he provides little value to Portland anyways. We still have the following left:

Lillard/ Schroder
Trent/ Dick
OG/ McDaniels
Siakam/ Porter jr
Poeltl/ Koloko/ Precious

Yall r tripping if ud put barnes in for dame barnes is the future. Thats the deal breaker the deal should center around og+maybe precious+ filler and grady. A team of lillard-trent-barnes-pascal+ porltl is one rude starting lineup. Would hurt to see og gone but portland wanted him n think that be best deal out there anyway. Other then nets not sure what other team can compete with our offers

This is not a surprise and if anyone thinks they're just going to send him wherever good luck, he's tanked his value with everyone outside the Heat. He's 33, has 2 po's on the backend of his contract and has 216m bucks no matter what, so he'll wait.

The divorce is coming

Why not? Portland stated the wrong thing publicly and said they would accommodate him. F*** them, Dame has made that team and the NBA billions, he should go where he wants to end his career.

I get all that but we had to wait through years of pleasantries for him to be prick now. What a waste.

That's fair but he didn't want to be. What I think is happening is nothin but optics, fans will want a return and to save face, Dame will fall on the sword and take the heat - pardon the pun.

Dame has got to feel sick lol.

They're painting him to be the villain now.

That's why players shouldn't be loyal to franchises.

Can we get in on this at all? Not for Dame, but for better role players. Like flip Boucher for someone

Who really is Miami giving up that Portland doesn’t want that we do? Duncan Robinson? Portland got nothing of interest themselves. Would we be willing to take on Robinson’s three year at 18+ for expiring scraps? That’s the only thing available probably. To me it’s a no.
