From the worst team in the league to be...maybe the 7 seed?

They'll be no walk in the park anymore, and you know Ime will have them competing hard.

Idk honestly that still looks pretty walk in the parky.

That Celtics team got Brad fired so they played all out to prove Ime right and were a .500 team that almost forced the hand on blowing up this core 2 years ago by all star break.

It was only the heavy amount of talent on the team and horrible results tha turned it around as Ime was forced to change his defense and let TimeLord be a free safety instead of a switch everything.

Sengun certainly can't switch everything on defense and that's still some young talent.

Neither VanFleet nor Dillon Brooks were exactly efficiency monsters shooting the basketball last year. I could see this team just unfortunately being shot out of the game by those vets often enough without the bigs to play proper defense regardless of FVV and Brooks being good perimeter defense.

As we've seen when we don't have TimeLord on the floor and our defense falls apart even when Smart won his DPOY... if your bigs aren't great on D your ceiling is dramatically capped on that end no matter how good your guards and wings are on defense.

Eh, I'm not saying they'll be world beaters, just probably not punching bags where you can expect an easy night, and if things hit right for them, I could see them making a push for the playoffs. They're awfully young for the most part, but they did bring in some vets. We'll see.

For the TPMLE? I think I’d rather just resign Grant if his number is looking pretty reasonable after market is drying up.

Assuming Grant is not coming back and you could sign Craig or Beasley for the same amount..

Beasley the better 3pt shot and younger but Craig the better defender and Beasley was pretty bad for the Lakers. I guess Craig for a season if I had to pick but don’t love either.

Mavs having a sneaky good offseason. Added 2 good players in the draft who could help short term but probably moreso good long term players to develop (Lively, Prosper). They added Holmes (not very high on him but maybe a change of scenery does him good). Then resign Kyrie, add a sniper to the back court (Seth Curry) and add a wing who could end up being a guy who surprises people by returning to the NBA as a solid contributor off the bench (Exum).

I reckon what the Mavs need is more guards…

Can the Blazers sign-and-trade Jerami Grant to the Nets (expirings of Dinwiddie and O'Neal plus picks)? Then they follow it up with SImmons, young fillers, and picks for Dame and Nurkic (absorbed into KD TPE). Dunno if that's legal.

Nets end up with...

Dame | Bridges | Johnson | Grant | Claxton
DFS | Nurkic

That's good enough to be top 4 in the East.

Now that JB's agent Jason Glushon has finished the deals for Jeff Green, Donte DiVincenzo, and Moe Wagner, he can now focus on negotiating JB's extension with the Celtics.

Cs with a top 9 of:

Porzingis, Rob, and Al

Tatum, Brown, and Hauser

White, Brogdon, and PP

That's good enough to win it all.

The Cs are better off emulating the 96-98 Bulls where it was PG by committee and C by committee.

A Dame for JB trade makes the Cs smaller and it weakens their defense.

If JB just stops playing dumb then the Cs are heading towards a 60-win season and Banner 18.

Good for Sabonis and Haliburton. One of those trades where both teams benefited and both players flourished in their new situations.

That list is pretty underwhelming for only 2 days into free agency. No wonder the news has dried up.

The good news is the Celts really don't need any of those on that underwhelming list.

Like he can be a starter alongside Porzingis.

But the Cs still have Horford, so Grant will still be behind Al.

He can be a starter on a non-contender with a weak frontcourt.

Porzi's not in Washington anymore.

And the C's have Rob.
