Don't get me wrong, Anthony Black *should* be in the rotation from Game 1 this season. That's the best thing for his development.
But those reps really need to come at point guard and right now there's no point guard reps to be had.
And in order for them to create point guard reps, they're either going to have to A. make a trade or they're going to have to B. move a player (Cole) who was *extremely effective* as a backup PG last season into a role he's never been good at (off ball SG) and also take their best 3PT shooter (Harris) out of the rotation.
It kind of blows me away how people (not you specifically, but as a general observation) can in one breath say some variation of "oh well there's no way they could start Black because rookies are bad and they can't afford to go backwards" but in the next breath suggest it's a no-brainer that Black should be playing over Cole and Harris when the team is theoretically trying to be as competitive as they can be.
These are the problems that creep up when you're trying to be competitive and develop players at the same time. It's just not easy to do both at the same time.
