Hey man good for him I hope it works out (for the Hornets)

I also hope he doesn't go to a Circle K late one night and gets the **** beaten out of him by a bunch of angry women. That would be terrible, you know?

For all we know he sees himself closer to Melo money than Dillon brooks money.

He seriously underestimates the curse of the Hornets. Dude probably shreds his Achilles in April.

He probably wanted the same contract Jerami Grant got. They're the same level of player. 5/160 or 32m per year.

I'm not one to cheer for dudes to get hurt but my reaction to a serious injury by Mark is going to be different than one to Miles

Especially after Desmond Bane got a max.

So next summer it's either we overpay him or let him bolt and get back compensation decided by Rich Paul. Not excluding none at all.

Wonderful.

Either way we are getting him for a massive discount this year. I’m willing to be open to the idea of bringing him back, a lot of time for things to just make sense in a year. If not, okay it’s not the best but again we still got a 1 year steal.

I don't think anyone is saying this was the best case scenario, not sure what you're getting at.

If he ends up regressing, we are safe. If he ends up as good as 21-22 or better, we can offer him a max and it’ll be worth it. If it doesn’t work out for some reason and he leaves all together, we have like $40m coming off the books in one off season between him and Hayward. It’s not a horrible scenario for us.

Such a strange feeling of actively genuinely disliking one of our key players.
Your Charlotte Hornets! We’ll eventually get something right;right?

So if he balls out, what would his max be? Similar to Melo's deal?

Do we have any advantages vs other teams? Is it higher % increases? Can we offer an extra year vs another team?

I don't think there's any way we offer Miles a near 5 year max with 8% raises (other teams can only offer 4 years with 5% raises I think as we hold his Bird rights).

Would you really want us to max up an arrogant ticking time bomb like Miles with Rich Paul as an agent? That's gross, I'd rather let him walk next year as he's never shown he's worth close to that, not even taking into account his behavioural issues.

My feeling is he plays well and we trade him at the deadline for a good asset. 28 teams want to win. He's got a very trade friendly contract. I'd love to give him to Houston for Eason and Whitmore for example if Houston thinks he's enough to push them into the playoffs with that roster (and he very well could be)

I know he has a no trade clause but no player in NBA history is not waiving a no trade clause to stay in Charlotte

What are the rules here? If Bridges is traded this season, do his bird rights transfer? I thought they didn't. If not, is it legal for Charlotte to sign him using the bird provision as part of a sign-and-trade next summer?
