I will say that seeing some Heat fans spin that they wouldn't be a superteam or that they're some downtrodden team or aren't favorites with Dame is certainly a take and narrative I didn't see coming.

but it is getting a chuckle out of me.

I definitely said we would be favorites in the East but I don't agree with being a superteam. These same fanbases would have called this roster trash a month ago and dismissed Bam and Jimmy as not being good enough. According to people, now we're basically the KD Warriors and we were some elite team where everyone picked us to be in the ECF or Finals the whole time the last 4 years. Even when we were #1 seed, people said the Bucks and Celtics were the real favorites.

We play possum with the regular season. Just look at the apathy Jimmy plays with pre Allstar break. If he played with any semblance of effort we are at least a top 4 seed. We just dont care about the regular season so that skews things. Not losing any key members of the team and adding Dame does make us a super team for the playoff, not the regular season because lord know Jimmy will be Jimmy.

Regardless of what happens with this Dame ordeal, seeding is very important. I still have a healthy respect for what Milwaukee and Boston are capable of, those are likely 2 of the top 3 teams in the East and the goal should be to only have to deal with one in the playoffs.

I reserve the term superteam or superstar for an elite few. It's a great team and title contender with Dame. They should be favorites in the East with Dame. I know we don't try hard in the regular season but even if we aren't as bad as an 8th seed (although that team last year was hard to watch in the RS) they are still never considered legitimate contenders or favorites. People on the GB are talking about the Heat's last 4 years like they everyone gave them a legitimate chance to win the East or were the favorites. Everything had to be earned by beating better teams. People constantly dismissed our rosters are not being good enough to win a title.
