Jalen McDaniels Appreciation Thread

Post#1 » by Embiid P » Sat Jul 1, 2023 11:14 pm

Admittedly this one hurts me more than losing Niang and Milton since he never got a fair shake here thanks to Doc. Maybe he never becomes anything more than an athletic energy guy off the bench but we'll never find out here. It sucks that it had to be Toronto but maybe he'll get a chance to develop there and show Doc and Morey what they missed out on. Good luck in your future endeavors, kid.

This is disappointing. What is Morey gonna do about our wing situation? McDaniels is young and raw, but worth taking a shot on for a small contract.

Yep, dumb move letting him go. Should have re-upped with him.

Guess the theme of this offseason is to avoid tax.

Damn I wanted this kid to get a chance to show what he could do here.
You want it to be one way....but it's the other way.

The Sixers wouldn't go to 5M per?

GTFO.

Stupid decision.

All show no substance. I’d rather have Charlie Brown

So Morey essentially traded Matisse for nothing. I dont think he got enough of a chance to show what he can do

Nope he also got two future seconds (the Knicks 2024 and Portland's 2029) in the deal. I agree though that he could have been re-signed for cheap.

Did Morey offer him a contract?
Wouldn't be surprised if he declined and went where he thought he'd get playing time to boost his next contract value.

And out of the tax.

Would we be re-signing Matisse right now? Did we trade nothing for nothing?

I really liked his prospects. It seemed like a no brainer to bring him back. We have maybe one small forward on this team.

Ok well another waste of a first round pick due to lack of development.
