It's not only their youth and potential we need to keep, it's the cost control contributors.

Both will be super cheap for the next 3 years - the same years Jimmy and Dame are making 40Mil+.

If we don't want to be paying 100Mil+ in luxury tax each year (and not even spending the TPMLE as a result) we need those young hungry cheap guys on our squad.

You can do that with minimums. For instance, handing Jamal Cain a 2+1 team option at the minimum people would be good with that and he looks like he could be a rotational player. I'm actually good handing any of Miami's 2-way players a 2+1. Wish they had kept Darius Days and developed him, Houston just gave him a 2-way contract this last Friday.

I’m taking Jovic.
I’m taking Jaquez.
I’m taking Martin.
I’m taking Herro (to a 3rd team).
I’m taking all your firsts.
I’m taking all your swaps.
I’m taking all your seconds.
I’m taking the ham sandwich you got for Strus.

You’re taking Simmons.

Those are the terms.

Don’t call me unless it’s to say, “yes, daddy.”

This moron on espn is referring to harden as a superstar and suggested Philly trades him for Lillard. Hahahha how do these people get jobs?

Bad news for us if Haynes is saying this.

You didn't expect teams to reach out the moment Dame asked out?

We got more of those in the pipeline than just those 2. But, yes keeping one (or both!) would be clutch as JJJ and Jovic are clearly 2 of our higher end young options.

With that said, I'm confident we have new iterations of Duncan/Strus and TJ/Nunn/Vincent and DJJ/Caleb in the pipeline

No, but I don't expect Haynes to talk about it publicly unless Dame is cool with it.

I was thinking that but POR may opt to take Mamukelshvili cheap expiring contract which gets them more money now rather than Sochan. Feel like SAS would value him too much to just be a throw in. SAS shouldn't have to provide any incentives in this deal if they are absorbing that salary.

Likelihood that this may cost us Jaquez and Jovic but we may well come away with Finney-Smith as well as Lillard. BKN need to provide the salaries to match. Finney-Smith, O'Neale and a FRP for Herro. Then we send Lowry, O'Neale's and Mamukelshvili's expiring's Jovic, Jaquez, 3FRPs.

POR get Lowry, O'Neale, Jovic, Jaquez, Mamu, 3FRP's and 1FRP swap and save 17.4mil this season.

Either that or we take O'Neale and POR take Finney-Smith but only get 13mil cap space and Miami get 7.4mil

DFS is too valuable for BK I don’t see him included. O’Neale on the other hand and his partial guarantee takes money off books instantly so he’ll work for any team. Maybe even us.

They just signed Johnson to an extension and drafted Clowney. Also Finney-Smith is a solid role player and good defensively but he also shot 35% from the field and 30% from 3 for BKN last season. If all it takes is Finney-Smith, O'Neale's expiring and a late PHX FRP to get them Herro, I think they would take that deal.

These teams really think they will just trade for Dame and force him to play and he'll be a good soldier and just accept it.

I feel like a lot of Blazers fans are in a weird and jilted headspace where it’s not even about getting max assets for Dame. It’s about either keeping him as prisoner or feeling vindicated by not having him go to Miami. Real crazy ex-GF vibes

DFS honestly fits nicely on the Blazers with Grant if they are looking to stay some what competitive.

It amazes me how nobody gets the J.Grant signing, currently Portland is at 112 mil and they have to get to the minimum of 90% of 136 which is 122. If you're rebuilding, you don't want to sign mercs to come in and try to up their stats for their next contract taking away shots from the younger guys or possibly causing problems in the locker room when the younger guys are getting minutes over them. Grant knows the situation; they don't have a talented young player to take his minutes at PF. Also take in consideration they're looking at the possibility of dropping some salary with Lillard and possibly Nurkic being moved.

I'm also surprised to not hear any rumors about Portland talking with Detroit to get one of their young bigs to work on developing with since they enough minutes for Wiseman, Duran, Stewert and Bagley.

The answer is yes, to this question, is he going to be mad, absolutely, is he going to show up to practice on time and play his heart out sit on the bench and cheer for his new team mates in games, also true. He is a professional and not James Harden who got fat, and showed up late to practices.

This has nothing to do with Dame's feelings. This is the actions of other teams.

But didn't you hear? The 76ers have a better trade package than Miami because they can send James Harden to Portland to play for a team he doesn't want to play for on a 1-year rental!

He's talking with Butler, if there's one person who knows how to force his way out even when his coach and POBO refuses to trade him is Butler. If it were up to Thibodeau everyone else but Butler would have been traded and it would have been the right basketball move.
