No, but I don't expect Haynes to talk about it publicly unless Dame is cool with it.

This has nothing to do with Dame's feelings. This is the actions of other teams.

Haynes is Dame's mouthpiece. I just don't see the angle for him to report this.

Yes, he's Dame's mouthpiece but he's also an NBA reporter so of course he's going to report this stuff.

He's going to share NBA news relevant to the situation. The concern would be if he added that Dame had interest in any of those teams which he didn't.

You gotta pay Brooklyn for taking on Herro.
You gotta pay OKC for unlocking that pick.
You gotta pay SA for taking on Nurkic.
You gotta pay me for Lillard.

Y’all shopping at Neiman with a Navarro budget.

Haynes is Dame's mouthpiece. Dame isn't his master. As long as he doesn't cross lines with regards to Dame's trust or wishes, he's absolutely going to maximize this platform and get on every media appearance that invites him to talk about this. This is an opportunity for him to shine and continue to grow his audience and platform. This is the biz.

He's probably just repackaging a lot of stuff that he's reported or alluded to over the past couple days for new audiences that may have not been scouring the internet/twitter to tune in to each of the latest updates.

It's all leverage plays. This is why stuff like this gets fed to media members. Compensated can mean more than draft capital too (taking contacts back and such).

There are people here still pretending Herro is some 25 ppg all star.. this guy is just slightly better than Jordan Clarkson.. and as i said on the other thread, the only other eastern playoff team from this past postseason that he would be a starter would be the Knicks. Not a starter in any western postseason team.

Hes a sixth man getting paid like a starter.

This Lillard situation is a perfect example of why you don't tank. Outside of normally overpaying its own marginal players, Miami runs a great franchise that anyone who wants to win a championship would want to play for if they can get the same pay as somewhere else. Under this CBA, Miami should strive to be a 3 max, mostly minimum team (developing players and ring chasers).

I need you to think for a second. In what scenario would a team ever leak out that they want a player badly thus making their own price go up for acquiring said player? This is all a leverage game. I have no doubt that Brooklyn has interest in Herro but it's also in their best interest to try and get him for the least about of assets possible. You got to analyze all angles here.

By the way, the HEAT can unlock their other picks if the pick that BKN would be providing them for Herro is the 2025 pick they got from PHX. Just something to keep in mind. They don't have to go back to OKC to unlock picks if that's the case.

Ooh interesting--can you break that down for us?

I typically forget all of these intricacies as soon as the offseason ends lol

The answer is yes, to this question, is he going to be mad, absolutely, is he going to show up to practice on time and play his heart out sit on the bench and cheer for his new team mates in games, also true. He is a professional and not James Harden who got fat, and showed up late to practices.

Bingo. I agree with this 100%. Dame already did his part by calling Miami his only destination and having word that its Miami of bust, but let's be serious if someone else lands him he's going to play for them.
