Banton’s game reminds me a bit of Evan Turner.

I can see why Brad wanted him.

His shot got better last season but didn't really do it consistently. That will be his swing skill

How tall is he really? Most sites (nba.com, ESPN, Wiki) say 6-7. Draft.net says he was 6-8 at combine. Basketball reference says 6-9.

6'9" with shoes, which is what the NBA goes by for official measurements. 6'10.25" wingspan.

Biggest PG in the league. I don't consider Simmons an NBA player anymore lol.

Banton can also play the 2 or the 3. Good versatility.

Basically Tatum with better handles and better D and less of a sooting percentage. His shot looks good though right?

Reportedly improving, but still bad--at least in results.

I've been thinking alot about Ben Simmons and how he could be the perfect #5 with DWhite Jays and KP
Kp can only play a C role on Defense, switches everywhere else Oshae and Banton both fit what we are looking for, will either become starting caliber or be big off the bench ?

Yeah it’s not falling…but to my untrained eye form looks decent.

We still need something significant in return for Grant...
a monster rebounder, can score some and guard 1-4

I think these (Banton and Brissett) are good signings, given what Brad had to work with.

There's 2 things

1) Money. All we can offer free agents is the veteran's minimum.

2) Playing time. We can't really offer much in terms of playing time. Anyone signing with us, has to know they are a longshot to crack the rotation.

Those are 2 major obstacles when it comes to signing any big name free agents. Most of the big name free agents are looking for more money and/or more playing time than we can offer.

Given those constraints, I think Brad did a very good job here of picking up a couple of guys who are probably just going to be end of the bench 3rd stringers but both have the potential (if they work hard enough, with a little bit of luck, if they are able to find a nice role on the court with us and if a need arises because of injuries or trades with some of the guys ahead of them on the depth chart), there is certainly the possibility that either Brissett or Banton could end up getting rotation minutes.

They're both guys who seem to play very hard, both have good size, both still pretty young (Banton is only 23 and Brissett is just 25). neither has any injury concerns that I'm aware of..

I mean, who did ya'll expect us to sign, given the 2 constraints listed above? This is about as good as we could've done, imo.

If either of these guys can improve their shooting, watch out!

Banton, Brissett, and hopefully soon to follow, Javonte Green all average over 2 offensive rebounds per 36. More than Grant, Al, and the Jays.
Baylor is Brat.

Welcome Banton. Is the 2nd year a player option or a team option?
