0 chance Isaac gets waived before his date. This FO has been so patient even though anyone with a brain knows what the end result is.
The issue is that JI is worth the patience. The FO knows that. If he is healthy he is a top 10-20 defender in the NBA. I am not saying it's going to happen but I mean if hes healthy and 20-25 off the bench. The what if is what is keeping the FO patient. Could be a mistake but not too many other options. This is his last chance though with the Magic.
He MIGHT of been worth it 3 years ago, but today he's not
Today he's guy who's played 13 games since the calendar hit jan 1st, 2020 and has had multiple injuries since then
Sorry but this guy needs to go and anyone looking at the situation logically can see that. Some people want to keep him on the off chance that he stays healthy for a full season because they are still expecting the same level player they expected back in 2018, but at this point, even if he stays healthy he's a backup on every team in the league, and yet he's a backup here as well but unfortunately he's our highest paid player
This year that money could of gone to bringing in someone who could of actually made a difference
To put it another way, hypothetically say we cut him before free agency, would ANY TEAM of signed him for the 17m he's going to make next season? Hell would any team even be willing to give him a multi-year deal that equals 17m? Unless it's a 4 year, I can't imagine a team signing him for that kinda money, and yet people here are perfectly ok with keeping him for that money... Because of the "what if"
Thank you. I just don't understand the love for this player. As a man, good guy, as a player, a giant black hole on the floor and on the balance sheet. Time to cut bait.
