If we need to take Ben to get Dame, do it. Spo will make something out of him. At the least he’s a good defender, passer, screen setter. When your best trade chip is Tyler Herro you can’t afford to be picky. We will take Ben and any other crap contract needed to be taken. Just do it

It would be interesting to see if BKN views Simmoms contact as a deep negative asset. 2 years at 37 million

Get back Lillard and Simmons

Simmons would be interesting with Spo I think Miami could get a lot out of him and he’d have value as a small ball 5 within rotations. The idea of him and Bam on the floor together creates a weird dynamic with two bigs who can push pace, defend all 4, and handle the basketball. Simmons is a really good fit in all the dribble hand off stuff we do. The salaries work in the deal, it would be a bad contract for just two years and we would be kinda capped out regardless my ideal rotation out of all of this would be

I just don't understand SA taking Simmons and Portland getting picks for that? Why wouldn't those picks go to SA? What's the incentive for SA to take that salary on?

Speaking to reporters ahead of Thursday’s matchup between the Nets and Heat, Miami’s coach detailed exactly why Simmons is one of the most difficult players to check in all of basketball.

“He is a tough guy to game plan for because so much of what he does is in the open court or those unscripted plays,” Spoelstra said. “His size, his ability to pass and his passing angles are much different than smaller players. He can just throw it over the top of a lot of different coverages. You’re just happy he’s back out there competing again [after being out an entire season].”

Based on the information I know about Simmons right now I wouldn't want him on our team. But if Miami have been monitoring him in Miami and their assessment comes back and they'd be prepared to take him on then it might be worth considering.

Yeah he’s real Aussie when he does a 60 minutes bit saying mate this mate that…. Then You watch him do a post-game interview and he’s talking like he’s never stepped a foot outside of America. He’s a goose and I doubt the spurs would want anything to do with him.

It’s sucks because he was growing the game in Aus big time but he just DGAF and has no competitive spirit, terrible fit with spo

Hard to imagine a worse fit than Ben with Jimmy and Bam on O.

We just wouldn't be able to play them together. Put him out there when either Jimmy or Bam sits.

Also the fact he dropped Klutch and signed with Jimmy's agent is no small thing. Everyone goes on about Klutch players ever coming here and as soon as there's a possibility Simmons could he then drops Klutch.
