The new CBA makes it MUCH harder to make minor upgrades on the roster if you do something like this. I don't think people are taking this into account.

I agree. Also the 2nd part I'm trying to figure out is HOW does Ben fit on this roster. He can't shoot. He's at the best when the ball is in his hands so that means taking the ball out of Dame, Jimmy and Bam's hands. Only way I see it working is if we were loaded with 3 and D guys on the bench and he runs that unit primarily.

Everything about Simmons says it's a mental problem, not a physical one. He has all the tools and talent to be successful. Spo and the org have the ability to fix him. I don't think he fits in the starting rotation if we get Dame but maybe in a bench rotation.

Maybe Simmons could work if you completely ignore the financial aspects of it.

I trust Riley and Spo and the coaching staff to cooking up some schemes for Ben to be successful.

Players need a want to and buy-in

Simmons has NEVER had that. He's only ever had want to secure the bag, and even then, was always a selfish player that only was content when everything revolved around him

I need Bam to expand his range this season. Not expecting him to shoot 3s or get that far out but slowly venture out a little more at least.

He definitely has massive mental issues. But, on top of that he's pure selfish bad attitude. Oh and the whole degenerative back issue thing

After getting Dame the only upgrades we’ll be making is bet minimum signings regardless though right? I mean trust me I don’t want him but if it’s absolutely necessary you do it. You do what it takes to get a Dame/Jimmy/Bam big 3. The rest will work itself out

I mean scheme is one thing but Simmons can't share the court with Jimmy and especially Bam on it. So you're basically paying a massive number to a guy that won't be on the floor when you need it most not to mention his back injury history is abysmal.

I need him shooting 3s. You can see they flirted with it early on in the season and in preseason a little but he put TONS of work in it this season and I’m sure he will be this summer too. His pregame shooting videos the 3 was looking pure
