Bol is an very very intriguing and fun player with this amazing size and some skill but he can't seem to grasp being a consistently effective team player with his tunnel vision style. It's like he can only play basketball at the park, like play 21.

Top four played 5 man lineups with Bol show some really gimmicky attempts at lineup design. Just replacing Bol with Ingles will be a massive improvement.

Moritz | Paolo | Bol | Franz | Fultz || ORtg 106.7 | DRtg 113.4 | Net -6.7
Moritz | Bol | Franz | Suggs | Cole || ORtg 109.1 | DRtg 99.0 | Net 10.1
WCJ | Bol | Franz | Okeke | Suggs || ORtg 94.0 | DRtg 98.5 | Net -4.5
WCJ | Paolo | Bol | Franz | Suggs || ORtg 110.4 | DRtg 116.4 | Net -5.9

He’s too desperate to prove he’s an NBA star still. He started the season playing somewhat within the team and looking interesting. But as his role and minutes became threatened when healthy players returned he’s touched dropped and so any time the ball went to him became Bol time. If he grabbed a defensive rebound he’d likely try to go coast to coast every time. He could be a fantastic shot blocker but he’s not engaged enough on that end and lacks awareness.

To his credit, he pulls off a lot of moves that he looks like he shouldn’t be able to. He started the season absolutely on fire on shots in the paint even though a lot of them were ugly looking floaters. I’d be interested to see how he looks if a tanking team like Washington just fed him like a top 2 option for a season.

If he matures and decides to focus on playing a role he could become a good contributor to a team.

Not at all upset. He made some cool plays but most of the time I was pulling my hair out watching him play.

I'm going to miss Bol Bol. He was fun to watch and had some flashes but usually, after a few minutes, you saw his weaknesses. The Magic just did not have an extra roster spot to develop him further. Nothing but the best to Bol Bol.

Roster is full already.

But I supposed they do have three two-way slots open.

What a classic WeltHam outcome.

Why the f*** they didnt move him before the trade deadline last year is a mystery. He had media attention, he was turning heads, had some unwarranted momentum behind him as the next great thing.

The FO and coaches had the privilege of seeing him in training amd knowing it was fools gold.

It was the moment to cash in. But, as we.have all come to know and love, this FO has different ideas. An allergy to maximising assets that demonstrates a commercial ineptitude that very few franchises could survive. If we manage to become good off our draft success alone, it'll be nothing short of a miracle. More probably we'll fall short because this FO is petrified to make a call that isnt waiving an asset they failed.to maximise.

Well, two as Kevon Harris under contract.

Summer League will be an audition for some on the roster and off as Harris was on another team's summer league roster last year.

I will always cherish the fun Bol Bol provided me as a fan in the '22-'23 season. I was always entertained when he took the floor. I had a fun time watching him play basketball.

One last time for the Boller Coaster!

I didn’t realize until right now that Kevon signed a two-year, two-way contract last summer.

I just dont buy a front office was willing to give anything of substance for a guy having some "flashes" on a 5-20 team. Maybe we could have gotten a second but we dont even use our seconds and have like 8 extra over the next 5-7 years. I do think people on this board think trading is like your typical fantasy league. I just dont believe its that easy professionally. Also I still have PTSD from some of the trades in our recent history. Oladipo, Harris, **** even going back to McGrady, and Ben Wallace. One reason I have trust in this front office is for once in my lifetime I feel like the Magic made a good trade with Vuc.

All that being said they need to clean up this guard room and make some decisions. They are running out of time. I agree with you on that.
Fine print disclaimer for Fultz:
I am high on Markelle Fultz. Yes I understand he is not perfect and needs to shoot more and better and turn the ball over less. I would really like to see him play one more year… and I did and he sucks time to move on.

It was fun while it lasted but throughout this past season, it became obvious he was not a rotation player.

This whole looking at magic trade history sent me down a rabbit hole. I never realized. Did we really trade the rights to pick that would become Amar'e Stoudemire and Bo Outlaw for Jud Buechler? For some of our more veteran posters did we need the cap space from that deal to pull off Hill and McGrady?

Bol looked great early on, a hidden gem type of guy who played really well, but eventually he was exposed as a guy who stopped offensive flow, only looked for his own shot and turned the ball over a ton. So I’m not surprised he wore his welcome out. With that said I do think with some good coaching some of those bad habits could have been eliminated. We’re trying to level up so the mistakes got to stop and Bol was by far our biggest offender.
You look confused...let me fill you in.
