After I return from my vacation on 8/1, I have a month-long diversity, equity, inclusion, and sensitivity boot camp, followed by an immersive two-month human resources educational retreat, followed by two weeks of writing performance reviews, followed by Thanksgiving vacation.

Maybe I’ll get to this Lillard trade by Christmas.

The aforementioned were all 2 team deals. When you are talking about 3, potentially 4 teams, at some point somebody will choose to walk away from the table.

Dame has an opt out in the 2024/25 year so he is as good as our one way or another. All he has to do is opt out of 48 million dollars. Dame would never put money over winning right...

The only fair trade here is if we include Bam. Anything less than that Portland has no reason to accept our mediocre package. And imo that trade makes us worse, not better.

You are making a serious mistake, because you aren't taking into account how awful Lillard's contract will be in two seasons. I expect the deal to be a lot less costly than many here, and whether we even win the deal won't be apparent until the final accounting. Lillard coming to Miami is a plus (now), but it's no guarantee of anything, and you know that. We are a good team already without him.

We aren’t such a good team no. We were an 8th seed that barely scraped by. Everyone including Jimmy played better and in some cases other worldly better like Caleb vs Boston to get us to make that miracle run. If we go into this season with this current team we will once again be fighting 5th-8th seed and another underdog hope for the best scenario. I’m not fooled by that miracle run, and neither should anyone else here. If we don’t get Dame, this is not going to be a pretty season. At the very least we should get Harden, I don’t want or like him, but as currently constructed, we are not elite.

You misunderstand. I'm not sure we get back to the Finals with Dame either. The question is of risk and reward. For me, Miami gets to the postseason and we compete against whoever is ahead. Go on and bet against us no matter who is on our team. It's a stupid bet.

Maybe Dame is enough. I don't know. I do know that deal in two seasons is going to be a stinker though.

I mean, Dame is 33 and set to make something like $120mil in 2 years or something

It's not like this is prime KD or something. Only contending teams should be interested, everyone else makes no sense to give up good assets when they're not close.


Plus, it's not worth the disrespect and bad karma and optics and PR to accept a slightly better offer over Miami. I believe we will get him

getting rid of lowry should be a heat priority this offseason dame or not.
