I am a Yoshi P fan boy so that tints my experience, but FFXVI has been everything I wanted. I actually really like Clive as a protagonist - he feels like he's really gone on a journey and has development - and is likeable!! Different experience than Cloud from the Remake or Noctis from XV.

I'm a bit further in than you guys, so I dare say you will continue to enjoy if you've liked so far.

The FFXVI talk makes me want to spend a week on FFXIV. Haven’t played much since I was getting too far ahead of my partner and wanted to give her time to catch up.

Initially rolled sorcerer in D4 and thought it felt okay while leveling (I'm only level 41). Constantly having no mana and being forced into spamming my basic skill was pissing me off though. Perhaps my build was to blame, but the class felt lacking to me.

I decided to give rogue a try and, yea, what an insane difference in damage. No resource issues and deleting everything in sight is a much much more fulfilling experience.

I started sorcerer as well and it was fun but then went to rogue and it was more enjoyable. Started a Druid last night and having fun so far.

Maybe that's what I'll do when I'm done with FF, start a new D4 character. I hated playing sorceror.

Thinking about scooping D4 today.

So I'm kind of stuck to playing PC games right now but I don't know what to play. I really just want to play BG3, but alas...

I am unsure if I want to go back to D4 right now. Some of y'all talking about how your experiences improved after switching from Sorc (which was my first char) has me tempted. I kinda miss POE and could roll a new char there. Could pick-up something on the Steam Summer Sale - I've had my eye on Against the Storm for a while. Or I could play something from my backlog I've never booted up.

The only thing I'm playing now is TotK. I feel the Steam Summer Sale has become Amazon Prime. The same crap every year and I have most of the good deals already.

I've been back on Valheim the past couple of months, finally entering the Mistlands, but already feeling like the game experience is pretty much over. Ashlands may reinvigorate me if my buddies are into it, but only for so long.

Ready for BG3.

I'm still playing a bit to check things out as I haven't really seriously grinded it at all, but if you were already burned out I don't see any reason to go back to D4 with Season 1 starting in like 3 weeks or so. Some good QoL changes with some more coming by then.

The Titan battle in FF was appropriately epic. But a random enemy I ran into while I was on my way to an objective in a side-quest was cool as hell for totally different reasons. It was an A-level bounty hunt but Nine of Knives was so awesome and different. It played out like a boss battle in a FromSoft game as opposed to something typically found in FF.

I had a similar experience in D4. Started with sorcerer and was very bored after a few hours. Switched to barb and have had a lot more fun.

Running out of mana all the time just feels terrible. I like ARPGs balanced around me using my most powerful skills, not balanced around me managing their uptime. POE is my favorite approach here, where you do have to manage mana but it's not hard to solve. In Grim Dawn it's not remotely an issue for any build I've played. Last Epoch is maybe middle-ground, where you can't spam one skill endlessly but you can for several seconds, not just 2-3 casts.

I'm curious what resource management is like on other classes, but wasn't curious enough to jump back in. Picked back up with POE for a new char, and also found that FF16 commands were lightweight enough for me to not cause my wrist a lot of pain, so going to slowly dabble back into that too.

Again, I think the bones are there for D4. I'm excited about the game but it just needs some time for me.

Any idea how POE plays on Steam Deck? Might pick it up hearing you talk about it so much.

Finally got my computer back up. Ended up replacing the RGB lights and just going for a classic b/w aesthetic with red coolant for an accent.

When I built my most recent PC in late 2020 (damn it’s been that long?) I went all out with NZXT RGB capable stuff and Razer accessories. Now I don’t use anything but base white or off. Simple is better IMO.

I just can't stand the wiring. All of these hardware companies have their own proprietary controllers, connectors, software, etc. It's just such a pain and I really can't be bothered anymore.
