2 days and we have some actual basketball to discuss. We'll have a game thread opened on Friday morning.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I think if we trade for Steph he bolts for NYK ASAP.
Not every player was jumping ship back then and he hadn’t even signed his rookie extension yet (timing might be off there). If you want to be all dark and gloomy over it go the injury route.

Yeah, I’d much rather target KPJ than sexton. Sexton is destined to be a sixth man imo, and nothing more. We could still use his skillset, but I don’t think there’s a ton of upside with him.
KPJ is a legit 6’5” guard who may develop into a full 3-level half court scorer. He’s a phenomenal spot up player, and he finishes absurdly well at the rim. Those are good things to works with. He’s locked in for 4 more years on his deal.
I’d still much prefer quickley, but KPJ would be a great get.

No, he has said himself he wanted to be drafted by the Knicks and if any other team besides GS had drafted him he would be with the Knicks currently.

Conley can longer blow past ppl but he’s a true point guard; finished top 20 in assists.
Jrue is really crap on offense and he's worse when drained of energy, making dumb decisions. We all saw what happened with Butler. Have him stand in the corner, where I think he'll thrive with the corner 3 and most importantly, as your best defender, have him conserve his energy for the other end.
You can trade Grayson/Pat/Bobby for Conley/Jaden McDaniels
I wouldn't do it but it works financially
I think it still works if you do Grayson/Bobby for Conley
Grayson did better these playoffs but I don't trust him. Obviously It would be hard to see Bobby or Pat leave; tough decision but I think If I had to pick, I'd keep Pat over Bobby.
Even if that does work I am not trading those two for Conley without being able to include Pat C. for a young prospect in McDaniels. Even then I would probably not do it, but that would make it more intriguing.

KPJ and Jrue would be a nice and complimentary backcourt

Re: Bucks News, Transactions and Trade Ideas - Beasley on a 1 Year Deal
If Sexton can take some of the playmaking load off Jrue (and Giannis and Khris when they’re forcing things) and if his defense can be at least passable it’d be way different than if he’s more of a Mo Williams kind of shot-happy undersized 2 who’d play greedy low bball IQ iso ball and get hunted on d in the playoffs.
Idk about trading Pat or Bobby for him in that case. I’d rather wait with them if only to see what else comes available. Maybe just trade Allen for a passable backup PG or take a flier on a minimum guy.
In the meantime we see how much Beasley helps in that same sort of Mo Williams role and how the team at large responds to Griffin and Stotts.

Didn't KPJ have a bunch of maturity issues earlier in his career? That's why he got jettisoned from Cle to Hou for a bag of chips. Bucks would need to feel that has been resolved or that their culture really helps him.
I just don't know why Hou would trade with us if Brolo really did tell them yes and then last minute pull out. KPJ makes $15.8 for the next 4 years so getting off that deal would be the only reason they might be interested. It'd have to be something like the proposed Sexton trade: Allen, Pat, 2nd for KPJ. Idk if that's worth it but it'd be a high risk high reward move to inject some youth and playmaking on a long term deal.

2012 - trades for Steph.
2013 - drafts Giannis.
Albeit we might not have had the 15th pick in the 2013 draft if Steph plays the full year.
Which begs the question, if we couldn't have had both, would you rather we traded for Steph or drafted Giannis?
Giannis. Bucks got a ring. No guarantee they get one with Steph. He needed Klay, Green, and Kerr to climb that mountain. Maybe the Bucks don’t surround him with elllnough talent or he hates Kidd and he bolts.

Who's to say that Kerr isn't on John Hammond's coaching list & gets him over GSW/NYK? Thanks to Curry.
And Babcock was pretty into Giannis. If he's not there at their spot, trade for him.
Maybe Curry suffers a setback under the Bucks presale medical staff. And the draft spot is relatively similar.
Detroit still drafts Khris who essentially sits out his rookie season & Hammond gets him from Dumars for Baddy.
Like with Monta, compounded by the JJ trade. Brandon & Curry isn't viable.

Dealing with people who exhibit the "smartest person in the room" syndrome can be a challenge. One approach is to listen their opinion while also encouraging open-mindedness. It's important to create an environment where all voices are valued.

I really don’t know about the value of these, but just combining some targets from this board:
Bobby, Grayson, 29 first for KPJ
Jrue for quickley, barrett, roby, Dallas 24 first, our 25 first
Look to see what barrett and two firsts can get you, or roll with the quickley, KPJ, barrett backcourt for this season.
Next off-season, if you still have barrett:
barrett, Pat, 4 firsts for KAT
Trade brook for Dort plus filler - I really don’t know who would be interested in brook, but I could see okc valuing his size, defense and expiring contract.
Re-sign roby
Quickley
KPJ - Dort
Midds - marjon - Andre
Giannis - Roby - Livingston

That Steph interview is from last year. Surprised it hasn’t gotten more play.
I did write about it on SOB back in 2016. Nice to see that the JFK files are now totally open with Steph.
https://saveourbucks.com/milwaukee-built-2015-16-warriors-stuff/
What was new from the interview was Steph claiming he didn’t know of the trade until after it was made. Was my belief Steph knew he was being showcased for trade those two games that weekend, when he went hobbling off the court during both. At that time, Kohl took the medical team advice and they passed on Steph. My belief is Steph tanked those games, so he wouldn’t get dealt here to compete with Jennings.
Had he been traded here, there would have been no SOB, and Kohl probably is still running things. It worked out for the best.

Re: Bucks News, Transactions and Trade Ideas - Beasley on a 1 Year Deal
Regarding Sexton: I get why the Bucks would do it as they need a PG-ish shot creator. But the Jazz are already pretty heavy on wings and light on PGs so I don't see why they'd want both Grayson and Pat, unless they're being re-routed somewhere else. Either way, there's no way I'd include a 1st for Sexton given his injury history.
Regarding Summer League: I'm excited about the team's potential, but the roster is pretty guard/wing heavy. Between Marjon, Jaz, AJ, AJJ, Livingston, Omari, Lindell and Manion, that's a lot of guys in the 6-foot-1 to 6-foot-7 range probably expecting minutes. I'm less interested in Lindell and Manion, but hoping the others all get ample chance to show what they got.

I would think KPJ's value is considerably lower than that right now. Think he is generally viewed as an empty-calorie malcontent.
No denying his upside, but not someone I would be targeting unless it is for dirt cheap (ie the rumored Grayson, Allen, 2nd package)

FWIW, he's steadily improved during his three seasons when it comes to his impact metrics, and as far as the red flags that he had in Cleveland, there's been a number of stories specifically written on his personal growth since that point. I actually would say he's a player that's trending up. He has both the physical and skill talent to ultimately be a sneaky buy that could eventually put him into core piece territory. I'm not sure the perception of him, aligns with the actual progress he's made and that's something that could be exploited from a value standpoint.
Short term shot creator off the bench we've sorely lacked and a stud three point shooter off the catch. Beasley is a great get from a three point shot variance standpoint but he's not going to be putting the ball on the deck much.
If we managed to steal him, I'd be excited.
Doesn't seem like that can be right. At any rate, count me among the people who wouldn't be surprised to see KPJ unlock additional levels. Big time talent.
His deal is heavily incentive laiden to the tune of about 5 million each season. If it does indeed work, I'd assume that's why it does.

Dealing with Ainge is impossible. He's going to demand that 2029 1st and Horst should absolutely stand firm on not including it.

I’m still not sold at all on that “insider” account. But yeah if any of that is true Horst can’t give in and include the 1st, would be a big L. If Ainge is being difficult then just move on for now, there will be other decent shot creators we can acquire later on, doesn’t need to be done in early July.
