So we don’t have the TMLE but can still use the Grant TPE to absorb a salary?
This new CBA doesn’t make a lick of sense to me

I've been advocating for a deal built around these players.

Not sure why he says we don't have the TPMLE. We're still under the 2nd apron even with cap holds. Maybe he meant IF we signed Grant we wouldn't???

Feels like another biggish move is still very possible. They can't just extend Jaylen and trot this team out with this bench. I'm withholding judgement until the other shoe drops (if it drops, but I think it will).

And they were never going to take that hit.
They don't even use their TPEs most of the time...

What does Brogdon, 3 1sts, and a few 2nds get us?

I still feel like something is going down. Either way I’ll wait to judge after seeing the finished roster. Loved trading for Zinger, but this roster is not complete.

I bet we'd have to renounce the TPE to get the TPMLE.

There was no reason to lose Grant for zero return on a NBA level player other than Boston's bottom line.
This is a pathetic deal.

Pretty sure we've gone backwards in the toughness department.

This can't be the roster to enter the season. I'm hoping Brad has a plan. I knew there was a big chance of doing a S&T from Grant, but we got nothing of value back and lost our 7th or 8th man who was a good role player and shot the 3 really well and defended multiple positions.

Re: Trade/Free Agency Thread, part 7, 2023-24
Here’s a thought, do we use the 6M-ish TPE, to get an MLE target via sign and trade using a 2nd rounder instead of paying the MLE and hard capping ourselves?

Oh no we lost a 6'5 guy with tiny arms who can't jump, what's gonna happen to our defense :cryingcat::cryingcat:

Depth ain’t winning you a ship. You just need a really good 6th man and playable 7th. We have both in Brogs and Horford.
