With Smart and Grant gone, I can expect the highly paid guys JB and Porzingis to do more of the dirty work now, apart from scoring. Right?

I wonder if Joe even knows what an actual play is.

Jokic and Murray showed us that a team full of grit in the Miami Heat are no match for a Nuggets team led by Jokic, a guy with high basketball IQ.

Miami was as grit as they come and it was a mismatch in the finals.

Basketball is not the UFC or MMA, basketball is about making shots and making the right plays.

Grit was the thing in the 1990s for the NBA.

Not in this era of NBA basketball.

The Nuggets had just as much grit as the Heat, or close to it. Bruce Brown, KCP and Aaron Gordon get after it. MPJ at times too along with Jeff Green.

Jokic is the best player is the game so that was the difference and Murray is pretty good himself. Also Jokic has a lot of grit. Grit isn't only being physically tough, it's also being mentally tough. Jokic and Murray are clitch. We can't say that about Tatum and Brown, especially Brown.

So it's a Tatum and Brown problem and not a losing Smart and Grant problem.

There's just no way Celtics are not better with KP instead of Smart and Grant.

Smart and Grant had their chance in 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023 and it wasn't enough to get Banner 18.

Dirty work is overrated.

Celtics will destroy opposing teams with legit basketball plays.

I messed around with one earlier today, lol. Not sure how I feel about it. Would rather Amen than Green, but feel like HOU isn't going for that. But feels light and too much for us at the same time... shrug.

PS: Sorry DD, it's not THAT J Green.

Oh I’m still talking for Brogdon and loose change.

Tough salary wise but having DDR, Rob and Caruso as 6th, 7th and 8th man is the kind of thing I’m talking about.

Jalen and Brogdon for Jalen Green, Derozan and Caruso? 100%. But Bulls make out great for a rebuild, Raptors get Brogdon for garbage money, and Houston pays out the nose with their three most valuable young chips.

Love Stewart, but, do you want him defending wings and closing out on shooters? IMO, the kind of big they need is the 4/5 variety.
Don't have a well-fitting Rob injury insurance. KP and Al better served more post defense focused.

Yup

Yes, cos offensive execution was clearly our strength.

It will be different with the addition of KP.

Last season the Cs just didn't have a different point of attack because Al and Rob were incompetent when it came to mismatch hunting.

That will not happen with KP.

Any team that tries to put a guy like Strus or Vincent on KP will pay dearly.

Just take out Jabari Smith, replace Boucher with Gary Trent Jr. and send Boston a couple of picks.

Me too.

If you can swing your version salary-wise, by all means. I guess if you want to totally destroy zoya and send Al, it works.
