How about Malcom Brogdon to Clippers for old friend Marcus Morris and Bones Hyland.

The Denver Nuggets ended their finals drought not because of grit.

Jokic and Murray showed us that a team full of grit in the Miami Heat are no match for a Nuggets team led by Jokic, a guy with high basketball IQ.

Miami was as grit as they come and it was a mismatch in the finals.

Basketball is not the UFC or MMA, basketball is about making shots and making the right plays.

Grit was the thing in the 1990s for the NBA.

Not in this era of NBA basketball.

The Nuggets had just as much grit as the Heat, or close to it. Bruce Brown, KCP and Aaron Gordon get after it. MPJ at times too along with Jeff Green.

Jokic is the best player is the game so that was the difference and Murray is pretty good himself. Also Jokic has a lot of grit. Grit isn't only being physically tough, it's also being mentally tough. Jokic and Murray are clitch. We can't say that about Tatum and Brown, especially Brown.

So it's a Tatum and Brown problem and not a losing Smart and Grant problem.

There's just no way Celtics are not better with KP instead of Smart and Grant.

Smart and Grant had their chance in 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023 and it wasn't enough to get Banner 18.

It's a big time Tatum and Brown problem. That's why one has to go unless you have a clutch 3rd guy. Mabye Porzingis can take some of that scoring pressure off Tatum or Brown and be that guy. I was hoping Brogdon would be that guy but he got hurt when we needed him most.

Grant wasn't used properly under Joe. He could have gotten more out of him. If Porzingis stays healthy, that would be a huge trade for Brad and the Celtics. I just think we could have gotten more for Grant. But I don't think Brad is done yet.

I'm not as doom and gloom about the upcoming season, but it definitely feels like we were lied to about the whole green light thing.

Its July 5th. They'll be over the 2nd apron.

And am I mistaken or are 2nd rounders not diminished if you're over the 2nd apron (in contrast to 1st rounders)?

KP for Smart and Grant is a good trade. The issue is we lost guys who did a lot of the dirty work, and other than White I just don’t see many guys on the roster to fill that roll. No surprise Brad was going after Pat Bev to replace some of that “grit”.

I just cant believe though that SA got a unprotected pick for taking on a expire 10 mill contract, a decent player no less. We could have used Bullock’s shooting, Brad needs those seconds though.
