For me, he just has to look like he belongs on a team and hit his 3 pointers.
Outperform Houstan.

I’m noticing that they have him off the ball a lot.

He's a shooting guard ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

He’s an undersized SG. That’s the problem. I wouldn’t have minded him at 11 but can he be a starting SG on a championship team at his size?

well, to be fair, i think most people were calling for Hawkins or Dick over George. so no one wins

How is he an undersized SG when he is 6'4 in shoes ( allegedly ) look at the majority of SGs of the league... DON, Herro , Grayson , Smart to name a few... 6'2 to 6'5 in shoes..
Championship/finals team the past years.... TOR had Green? MIL had Grayson? DEN had KCP.... none of them are 6'6 above right?

I mean, I guess he can play SG if the team has an top 3 player on the court with him (2019 Kawhi, 2021 Giannis, 2023 Jokic) and he’s the 4th/5th option like the guys you mentioned![]()
The idea with Keyonte being a top 10 pick would be for him to be THE guy or the second guy on a championship team. I think that can happen if he can play point. Not so much at the 2 unless he can be an elite scorer.

Well he is the 11th pick so not top10 AND we already have Paolo and Franz for the 1st and 2nd option and yes, he is projected to be a scorer. No neet to play the point if he is an offensive threat off the ball... which he is.

i would still caution the hype after 1 game.

I grouped George in with Bufkin and others in the “use the pick on a high upside guy, not Dick or Hawkins.” That said, if the Magic heard something about Howard that leads them to believe he has just scratched the surface, I’m good with them shooting that shot on him. Was super surprised on draft night but really hoping they know something we don’t.
Howard should have every opportunity to seize the SG slot given who is in front of him. If he doesn’t, that would be a huge shame as there will be some really good players around that 11 pick we had.
