Celtics talking about getting Saddiq Bey or J'S Tate and are still trying to trade Brogdon.

The Bucks are trying to get or are close to getting Colin Sexton.

Where did you hear this?
Inside info?

I'd be really happy with either Bey or Tate. Both good players.

The funny thing is that Hayward and Porzingis are the exact same player

I mean, there's already been trade rumors over the years involving JB and AD, Harden, Kawhi, Beal, Lillard, Ben Simmons, KD and now Lillard again. JB is still here in Boston..

I do think its disrespectful to not let your guys know whats up.

Smart was blindsided, Danilo was blindsided.

I agree with that and then on the other hand I'm thinking it was Smart that blew up with upper management during the playoffs. Whole thing makes a bit more sense in that light (not just that he did that and got moved out, but sounds like he wasn't on the same page with what they wanted to do - or at least someone wasn't).

The only respectful and honest way to keep players updated is to take Danny's approach and let them know any of them could go for the right deal. The only way to keep discussions quiet is to limit those in on them and often time is of the essence.

I'd be happy to provide Miami with the assets they need to get Lillard in exchange for Bam Adebayo.

I know Brad is going into what? His Junior season of being the President of Ops but I really don't know how I feel about that. We heard when he opted in too that it was expected he'd be a contributor next season.

Leads me to believe Marcus thinking he wasn't getting traded was more than just his ego speaking. Not a great look. Things happen obviously, but when it's Marcus and Gallinari and then you yeet them to whatever next team that calls. It's just not a great look for other guys in the league.

Not gonna lie, this kind of looks like a picture of 2 guys who know that they played their last game together.

If you're just looking for depth and regular season minute eaters, there's a bunch of them in the 2nd round and even undrafteds. For potential non-star playoff contributors, just trade for them down the road (Nuggets didn't draft KCP and Bruce Brown or like the Cs with White and Brogdon).

...
The other I think is a regret from the trade deadline, where we ended up with Mike Muscala, who did essentially nothing for us, while Atlanta got Saddiq Bey for a bunch of second round picks. I think Brad wants to be equipped to make that kind of deal at the deadline this year, especially considering at that point you're only taking on the prorated part of the player's salary, so you have more wiggle room with the second apron.

Mike Muscala didn't play much for us because 1) he got injured at some point 2) Cs have better players ahead of him. He really was just injury insurance. Both Timelord and Horford were healthy enough to finish the postseason. Knowing Joe and how we're set 1-8, Bey wouldn't be in our playoff rotation either.

I didn't mean Bey specifically, but whoever next season's Bey is at the deadline (though I do think Bey would have played for us in the playoffs). That said, I've seen a bunch of people saying we're set 1-8. I think we're got a clear 1-7, but 8 is still very iffy for a team that wants to win a championship. Pritchard, Hauser and Brissett are all players that could easily move down the depth chart if we acquire someone (now or at the deadline). Add to that that Porzingis, Brogdan, Time Lord and Al are all significant injury risks and I really don't think we're "set 1-8".

Windy mentions White is eligible for an extension (thought it wasn't until late December) but anyway, get that done. I'm more excited about that extension than JB's supermax tbh.

We WERE set last postseason. I'm with you that we need better postseason depth this season especially if you factor in injury risks. Tatum and White are the only main guys who tend to not miss many games (in White's case only once in green).

This Miami crap is very corny. And I hate a corny crap.

I don't even sweat it when reports come out about players wanting to play in Miami....yeah, no sh**T! Play in a warm city, no state tax, party central. Of course he's gonna have them on the top of his "list".....but when push comes to shove, he's not a free agent. he doesn't have a no-trade, and he's under contract for 4 more years.
I'd say with confidence that if Boston acquires Dame, much like KG, he would fall in love with the city, the culture, etc. Dame/Tatum/KP would be INSANE.

The moratorium period is set to end in less than 3 hours. Lots of signings and trades will start becoming official then. The longer a certain trade doesn't happen, the more conspiratorial I'll get that it's being combined with a bigger trade. hoopshype.com/lists/damian-l…

I thought it was midnight last night. Must be noon today.

Edit:

NBA free agency kicks off on Friday, June 30, at 6 p.m. EST. Teams can immediately negotiate and reach deals with players.

July 1-6 is considered a negotiation period called the Free Agency Moratorium. As a result, contracts cannot be officially signed until 12:01 a.m. EST on July 6. Any deals before that day are considered agreements between the player and team.
