So here me out, the less this becomes organically from Portland to Miami the less chance we have to get Lillard. The deeper him and his agent dig their heels into the ground and play forceful operations against the league the bigger the chance that the league turns around and decides to make an example out of this situation by making sure it is not successful.
Again I caution everyone to take a step back, and realize that the less this is organically done, through the correct process and not by an Agent/Player holding his FO hostage, the greater the chance we have of failing to get him. The league has been moving mountain in the CBA the last couple of years to make sure these things don't happen. There are owners whom hate the Heat because we are a free agent destination, and the more source this becomes I think it actually lessens our opportunity. I think it needed to happen with him calling us out from day one, but the constant push I am seeing in twitter verse from the Agent is not helping us at all to be honest.
This could seriously back fire tremendously, and I wouldn't put it past it to see a WOJ tweet in the next couple days with Damian heading to team not of his choice nobody saw coming.
Person #1: Forget what Dame wants. Trade him for the best offer.
Person #2: But Dame said he only wanted to play in Miami.
Person #1: Before that he said he only wanted to play in Portland, and that was a lie.

I don't really get it, why bump your timeline to now after making a solid change from that? This is how you screw up your future by continuing to change directions.
This is where Miami always trying to compete nearly every year is a huge plus, consistency, they're very rarely taking a step backwards other than to make cap space to chase someone else (retool) vs taking multiple steps backwards for multiple years (rebuild).
Consistency in your FO and coaching staff is huge in the NBA. If you look at the teams that have long-term success you usually see incredible consistency in the FO and coaching staff. The more you pivot the more you take a step backwards.

Even if it's not true, people will think it is. Dame has single handedly destroyed his entire reputation these past few days. It's pretty impressive like watching a car crash in slow motion.
The best analogy for Dame right now is he is that Christian pastor on tv who talks all about family values, how love is about a man and woman etc. Then he get caught with a transvestite prostitute called Laquisha Long Cock. God may forgive but fans dont, he is dead in the eyes of many.

The agent is doing his job. When AD wanted out of NO, Snake Paul made sure to inform the league he was only going to sign an extension in LA. When KD pounded the table for Phoenix, his agent worked behind the scenes to make sure he got to his destination. Now they are going to pretend to take a stand because its Miami? I dont think so.
Portland (through their own actions) have embraced the youth movement, and thats not Dame’s timeline. There is no brinks truck coming. Boston’s poo poo platter of Brogdon/Rob Williams is 100x more disrespectful than ours is. So Cronin can do this the easy way or he can do it the hard way. If he’s still unsure of which way is better maybe we need to send in some booty goons to help him decide.
