This is fantastic insight about the kids first impression and what he should expect in the league:

What's interesting about that take is that from what I've noticed, the French league is shorter overall than the NBA. It seems there's hardly any 7 footers and Wemby looks very comfortable scoring against smaller players including small forwards. Paul George has no chance of guarding him. I'm more interested in how he plays against bigger and stronger players closer to his height because it doesn't seem he has much experience with that. The G league isn't the NBA but Wemby adjusted just fine (longer 3 point line etc) and I'd expect him to perform on the level we saw in Vegas eventually if not immediately.

They're reserving him for the 2024 playoffs.

Not sure if you've seen much of his play, but he doesn't bang much in the paint or play almost any traditional big man-type way. He'll rim run in the NBA and will dart into the mix for putbacks, but otherwise he plays more like a KG-type big. Further out on the perimeter, using his lengths to get up jumpers and try to squirrel around his defender. Not sure that NBA length and strength will completely change that strategy.
The bigger issue with that style is that he's not that killer at it. Unclear if he can be great playing that way early on in the NBA.

She's crazy. She probably tried to do something she wasn't allowed to do. I doubt the security backhands a famous person for no reason

UPDATE8:22 AM PT -- Law enforcement sources tell TMZ, the man listed on the police report as the one who slapped Britney Spears is Damian Smith, the Director of Team Security for the Spurs. Our sources say it is not being handled as a criminal matter, because cops determined Smith was not trying to hurt Britney but rather defend Victor Wembanyama.
Nothing to do with Wemby tbh...they're already trying to use his name/image to garner clicks. Smh

I've seen him. He plays with his back to the basket. That's part of his game. You're misrembering KG's game because he thrived in the mid-post with his back to the basket or facing up. Wemby is similar. I'm interested in seeing him do that against 7 footers who can offer better resistance.

How can you say this story has nothing to do with Wemby when it literally involves Wemby?

How can you say this story has nothing to do with Wemby when it literally involves Wemby? It also involves the Spurs organization, who I'm sure will be looking for a new Director of Team Security.
It doesn't involve Wemby at all. He got tapped on the shoulder and the is about the extent of his involvement. To make it seem like he was directly involved in any of this is highly disingenuous by TMZ

I'm not sure you understand how involvement works. He doesn't have to be the one assaulting her to be involved in the situation. There would also be no "extent of his involvement" if it "didn't involve him at all," so right there you're contradicting yourself.

That security guard will have to be launched into the Sun. Wemby is probably pissed about the bad PR.

I don't think you understand involvement. He was not involved in the slap at all. Simply being in proximity of the event does not equate involvement. So I'll say it again - he was not involved in this altercation. I also was not contradicting myself at all. The extent of one's involvement being traced to his proximity to an event does not constitute being actually involved in the event.
You can continue to whine about semantics if you want but I really don't care. Victor had nothing to do with this incident and it is pathetic that TMZ is trying to paint it like he was

He was not merely "in proximity of the event," like he just happened to be in the same general location when it happened, the event revolved around him. She tapped him on the shoulder because she wanted a photo with him. Did you even read the article? Spurs security didn't slap a famous person completely at random, and if they did it would just be even worse PR for your team than it already is, so I'm not sure why you're wanting to paint that picture just because you're paranoid that people will blame the golden boy.
