Then Spears' guards should be as well given they said this was standard response to such situations and it would not be uncommon for them to respond this way?

She was hit and it's bad she was hit but security context plays an important role here.

I've seen far worse at film festivals and concerts from security. They're very rough once any reach is made. That's not to minimize the impact on Spears but to highlight the security response is fairly consistent.

He said what he felt. We also don't see a side view that would show any touch impact just from the back with a guy in the way at times.

I'm not a lawyer like you but I thought Assault and Battery had two parts, first the Assault which would be to threaten Brittany with harm and then the Battery which would be following through with the threat and physically harming her.
