Chet and Wemby won't sniff Embiid's level. I'll wear this in my signature for eternity even if I'm remotely wrong just about one.

I’m big on Chet. He got me in last year’s summer league.

When their careers are over, how do you guys think the Kentucky guards in the NBA will rank? I'll start...

1. Shai
2. Booker
3. Murray
4. Sharpe
5. Fox
6. Maxey
7. Herro
8. Quickley
9. Johnson
10. Monk
2025-2026 Philadelphia 76ers:

Maxey/McCain/Lowry
Grimes/Edgecombe/Gordon
Oubre/Edwards/Council
George/Watford/Walker
Embiid/Bona/Drummond/Broome

I think the Celtics are going to regret letting Williams go. Between Smart and Williams, much of their big game moxie is gone, as well as two guys who weren't afraid of taking big shots.

Totally agree on Grant, but not Matisse. He's an offensive black hole who will continue to be ignored on offense. Unless he suddenly develops some BB IQ and can be taught to move without the ball and take advantage of Luka's passing, he'll still be unplayable in playoff situations. Williams was a brilliant pickup.

Meh Williams is useful but they added Porzingis and with Horford plus the other Williams who are all much better his playing time was going to be almost 0.

They essentially got picks for nothing. Further Smart is essentially a flop god problem is the NBA is finally deciding to crack down on the Smarts of the world. Who wants to guess the over and under for Smart technical fouls in a game?

I love what the Celtics have done from a basketball perspective from a sixer fan perspective I hate it. They are going to be even better than last year the only question is from a makeup perspective because they had the talent to goto the finals last year. They should have. They were better than the heat. Mentally though it seemed like they were a mess and that was with Smart and Williams so the whole idea that they are glue guys to me is overrated.

I said it last year he was really only a 3PT shot away from getting a contract like this or even. He must have shown enough that the Mavericks think there is something there.

For me I lost all hope and I really wasn't convinced last year was going to be real moving forward. We will see.

There's no way the Blazers match that on Matisse. Or at least they damn well shouldn't.

Does Sharpe even count? He never played & is more of a wing than a guard. I think Murray could overtake Booker due to team accolades but otherwise the list looks solid to me.

We'll see. The next big game Porzingas plays will be his first.

So of course, Portland just matched 3/33.

Why?

WTF are they doing out there? Is their plan ALSO to just bring back disgruntled star and hope for the best?

It's almost like some of these execs won't make big moves because they're scared to death of Twitter. The noob in WSH didn't get that memo, though.

I see Sharpe as more of 2, but I see your argument. He's definitely a different mold than the other guys.

I could see Maxey ending up better than Fox but he needs a big jump in playmaking and creating turnovers.

Another potential FA off the board. Murray re-signs with Atlanta.

No one has a clue right now who will be available in 2024 via trade, but everyone acts as if it's already written in stone that there will be nothing happening so we have to rush to do something ... anything ... right now.

One of the things that sucks the most about social media with sports is how everyone wants instant gratification, and every damn utterance of players, coaches, GM's, etc. is overanalyzed to a ridiculous extent. Another is the proliferation of all these "newsbreaker" leeches on ESPN shows desperate for content whose every word is made to be some proclamation from on high.

Sorry for the rant, but at some point it might not be a bad idea to see how it plays out before putting all the nails in the coffin.

New guys are always available for trade.

Cap space plan is at least a plan.

Tobias and Harden are unwatchable, Morey has no intention of trading either of them, and as a kicker re-signed Trez after being gifted an opt out.

The Harrell signing is completely irrelevant, it just happened at a bad time. End of the bench locker room guy.

I don't know what Morey's intentions are, and neither does anyone else here, but don't let that stop anyone from calling him "washed", "clueless", and a "fraud".

It's the same with drawing final conclusions on kids from a couple of summer league games, which are glorified scrimmages with a bunch of teenagers. I'll wait to see the roster in September and the way these kids look in real games after a training camp with a legit coach before drawing any conclusions. Maybe even to post-deadline, when it starts to matter.

Just so I have it straight... your tune changes if they give up assets for LaVine, yeah?

Not sure what you mean, but if we get Lavine along with picks for taking that contract and don't have to give up more than either Harden or Harris, that's a trade I can live with. If Maxey is involved, no deal.
