We are all agree that Kidd destroyed Wood trade value.
He isn't Anthony Davis but he can have a place in NBA and i'm sure that a good coach can find it(i think he is like Bobby Portis).

I don’t agree with that at all. Wood destroyed Wood’s trade value. He’s horrible on defense. People complain about Powell but at least Powell is smart enough to know where he’s supposed to be on defense. Wood literally had to be told his defensive assignment each time down the court. You CAN’T play a guy like that. It’s no coincidence that Wood’s tenure has ended the exact same on every team he’s been on.

I agree. With his offensive skills, all he has to do is make a minimum effort on defense and teams would be happy. He looks completely lost on the defensive end.

Wood played a decent 1vs1 defense (he played great against AD), his problems are the switch and the team defense. You are right.
Probably he lacks in attention and attitude.
But our team defense this year was horrible and it's not only Wood fault.
Yes Powell was in the right position but it's useless because it's like he wasn't there. He can't stop nobody.

I'm Kidd's biggest critic.
But this is on Wood. Every team has tried to fix his defensive failings, every team has failed.
He actually has the tools to be a fantastic defender. He's just incredibly dumb and lazy.

Its as i always say, posters on this board got a very short memory and keep trying to change history to fit their agendas. Just go back and read this thread from the start and then look around the board on threads now discussing Wood. Its 5 months since most thought giving wood 4/77 were a must and that nico finally did something right by offering it. Now its like "he never were good with us", "only worth vet min", "cant defend" and so on. Will also be intresting how many goes back and edits their posts.

Also, I'm pretty sure about half the board barely watch any games, if at all.

Mavs tried to extend him with two years and 30+ million. I think Wood passed on it. Mavs dodged a bullet on him.

This is bizzare to me...
My bet is that rumors of something bad in the locker room got out, he's legit good iffensive player...

I'll take solace not having to watch him showboating after scoring while the other team inbound the ball quickly and push it up the court.
Looking like he Nerlens himself if 2/30 was on the table.

Wood's agent should have learned from Noel.

The "bet on themselves guys" always have a high chance on falling flat on their face come free agency time. I don't know if it's false player empowerment, but the house always wins. They should know this by now.

Re: Christian Wood offered Extension
Wood is such an enigma. His December to January stretch as a starter was awesome. He played the best defense of his life, him and Luka were connecting really well, Thousands of Mavs fans wanted to give him the 4/77 extension. Guy averaged 20pts/9reb/2blks while shooting 52/37/80 shooting splits. That's pretty damn good.
Then he comes back and loses his starting spot entirely. His shot never falls the same after the thumb injury. He stops caring about defense and just becomes a selfish player. Then all those issues with his agent sending all those texts seemed to just sour his value everywhere.
Any team that wants to give him a large contract right now would be crazy but vet min? That's low risk, high reward. I don't want him here anymore though. Time to move on.

Wood as 6th man off the bench for the MLE is a steal, it's becoming bizarre what happened to him, there must be some rumor about Rockets/Mavs locker room we haven't heard.

His agent was sending texts to most of the Dallas media and some of the more prominent media members which were all the same text. Woj tweeted one about Wood being the best player Luka has ever played with or something along those lines. The media then caught on and stopped tweeting on behalf of his agent and the Mavs media laughs at it.

3rd or so response says his agent texted you that.

Re: Christian Wood offered Extension
That's true, he is talented and a good guy at all... He needs to be more focused on what help the team.
But he tried and we have seen a little progression in the right way but Kidd rotations destroyed his mindset... I don't know if with a better coach the things would have gone well. Probably not.
