Riding high on my second cup of coffee, but I'm pretty stoked on MJB. He's been much better than I expected in year one. Defense is NBA ready, high motor, jumper has promise, handle needs work but is better than advertised, he's going to get strong, and he has the innate spatial awareness that is hard to quantify.

And his best trait is his work ethic.

He played against pros in the G-League, and the highlights (and some lowlights) that I saw were promising. Especially that they never drew up plays for him, which means he has a solid baseline understanding of where to be both on offense and defense. It seems that Bud and the coaches do like him to be giving him starting jobs and solid minutes. He'll have his valleys as well as peaks, but I'd rather let him play 20 mins a night and soak up that experience. Given the age/health of some of the roster, as well as his physical profile and heady play, you never know if he gets called upon in the playoffs.
"Wes, Hill, Ibaka, Allen, Nwora, Brook, Pat, Ingles, Khris are all slow-mo, injury prone ... a sandcastle waiting for playoff wave to get wrecked. A castle with no long-range archers... is destined to fall. That is all I have to say."-- FOTIS

I'm struck by how much better his shot looks. Sure, it's going in more, but it looks better. Wild to see this happen in such a short time frame in the middle of the season. Real excited to see what a full summer does for him.

This matches the eye test too. His quick feet keep him close, but what puts him over the top is that length when contesting shots. That 8'10" standing reach is what causes the misses.

James Posey seems like a pretty good comp to me.

No idea what brought that into my head.

That is a really great throwback comp, for a wing who has starter level functionality with the ball, and some nasty strength on D.

A Marjon leap into a solid rotation piece and even more optimistically, solid 5th starter with the main crew, is one of the more exciting upside hopeful things for me to watch this year.

I wonder how many of our young players mightve been good with a coach who cared about young player development.

1st half he looked as awkward as Jabari Smith. Great to see him settle in, especially liked seeing him be able to turn the corner when driving on Watson.

MarJon looked really good in the 2nd half today but until he can show that he's a decent shooter I'm not sure I can see him developing into more than a 15-20 mpg guy. 2-7 today from 3 isn't exactly encouraging.
Coach Drew: "Milwaukee has always been a team that I have been intrigued by. When we played them, they were a tough team for us to play. Although we did beat them all four times"
