I was expecting him to be the star in summer league.

He showed a lot. Just had no help so he had to take a lot of possessions on with no PG.

He really is one of the best shooters in the league already catch and shoot and now his pull-up 3s look crazy good. He is driving very well to the rim, running pnrs well and making good passes. Looking like a stud just like the end of last year.

I think he has Vince Carter type potential.

And that young man who's on the summer league team just learns a valuable lesson about why we run out the clock.

2023 feels like it’s going to be a pretty strong draft after way too little time of watching it.

Can we get a Thank You card for Scoot?

We really suck at this draft thing.

Miller looks great too man. Nothing to be sorry about. I hope you guys get things turned around.

Yeah, while Miller doesn’t look to have as natural a feel for the game as Scoot or Amen, I’m not concerned about him yet. Plenty of guys look awful in SL but then look great in the league, so don’t take too much good or bad from summer league games.

This was my first time ever seeing Scoot play aside from highlight reels. I thought he showed good passing ability, which bodes well for him being the "PGOTF". He would have even had more assists if he had more competent teammates.

I think Sharpe was trying to take it easy and defer to his teammates, since he's already established. But he looked great when he tried. All of his shots look like they are going right in.

What impressed me most about Scoot is how he played under control for the majority of the time and was just very confident. Didn't get rattled. Encouraging and communicative to teammates. Pushed the pace. Great body control and change of pace game for someone so young.

A bright start to the future.

He was super vocal on the court too. Great PGs are usually really vocal when directing plays, so I was encouraged to see that.

Scoots going to be good, but man is this team gonna stink on ice for the regular season. Top 6 pick territory for sure.

Loved what I saw from Jabari last year. He’s a definite steal from the 2022 draft.

A lot to like with Scoot. There are a lot of intangibles already there--which is great. I loved on that one play how he had no hesitation pulling up from 3 when his defender went under the screen.

I see some of the same things I did when I did my pre-draft deep dive on him though. He has zero left hand. You could see it tonight on his drive to the hoop when he put the defender on his back...he finished with his right on the left side of the hoop. Also, I finally saw him pass with his left hand...that play toward the end to Murray in the corner for 3. The pass was underpowered and off the mark. Murray had to move to get catch the ball. Still went in though...it's obviously a correctable thing, but it's not something that comes easy. Going to take a focused effort.

Sharpe looked loose and not pushing too hard, which is fine. He has nothing to prove in this setting.

Overall, looks like the Blazer stealth rebuild since initially signing Grant was worth the effort. Blazer back court cornerstones are in place...now they just need a young big to go and grow with them.

I would be panicking right now if the Blazers had drafted Miller, lol. He'll be fine in time...but all the things I saw in my deep-dive on him seem to be playing out so far.

Yeah scoot also needs to learn to reel in the midrange he is very trigger happy there as he was all year.

Once he accepts the pass first rim pressure guard that he is he’ll only be better, John Wall with a 3 pointer. Sharpe and Anfernee are more naturally born scorers but Scoot can do all of impact things. If Jovic continues to look like a point forward with rim pressure capabilities we could have 4 really good guys under 25 to build with 3 on rookie deals.

Yeah, definitely. When he gets in the paint without being downhill he tends to get blinders on...

And agree, there is lots to be excited about.

I love Shaedon's jump shot, but I'm a bit concerned about his lack of ability to take it off the dribble to the rim.

I'm not sure whether it's his handle, or first step that is holding him back. This was apparent today (less important), but also apparent throughout last season too.

He's still a great prospect, who I'm very excited about.

Having not seen the game and just reading comments here I think my suspicion is quite possible: Scoot might have the most upside of any current blazer

It'll be interesting if Scoot asks to play on Sunday against Victor and the Spurs.

If he plays, it'll likely be his last game in the summer league for the team will shut him
down to be on the safe side
