Bol Bol is a novelty act, he barely does anything at an nba player level besides block shots due to length, he couldn't get real minutes on a team worse than the suns and now some of you are acting like he makes DA expendable. He will be lucky to be in the league in 3 years

Suns are not going to perform a charity act by signing that bum Bol Bol. They need guys who can play in a playoff rotation. We’ve got enough bench bigs as it is.

Y’all getting heated over the last roster spot “we need someone for the playoff roster” if the 12th spot is getting playoff minutes we are in big trouble.

You got me. I’m super heated about which scrub rots at the end of the bench.

How many years would Yuta and KB-D have to play here for the Suns to have their Bird Rights?

Two years to have their Early Bird Rights.

A team may re-sign its own free agent to a contract with a first-year salary of up to the greater of (a) 175% of the player's salary in the last season of his prior contract, or (b) 105% of the average player salary for the prior season

Updated after the Todd trade.

If Suns went into season with this 15 man roster, looming tax bill would be just under $75mil.

Would be around $120m in luxury tax next year.

Career wise he could have an argument, but for time spent? Sheesh

I don't know if he is the best point guard ever for the Suns. However, I think he was our most important player during his time with the recent Suns teams. He helped Booker go to another level along with other contributions. In the playoffs we basically went how he went. When healthy, we were damn tough to beat. When he was injured we just were not very good, even with Booker and Durant on the team.

I am excited as most about the addition on Beal but I also respect what CP3 brought to our team. He turned this franchise into a legit winner. Can we continue what he started now that he is gone?
I think that CPs 20/21 season/playoffs was the most impactful single season a suns PG ever had. Looking at how he played, what they accomplished, what it's lead to and where they were before he arrived.

But it's close and if you said it was the Nash year after he came back as a FA and started the 7SOL run it's a fair argument.

I don't think any other suns point guard season comes close to those two from an overall impact standpoint.

Id probably say CP is the best PG to ever play for the suns, Nash is close but CP was such a better defender throughout his career I'd put him over Nash. I think CP is clearly better than Kidd, KJ, ect. But that's whole career, career wise just as a Sun you can't say CP had the best run. It was too short, 1 super elite season, 1 good season, and 1 old kind of washed season just can't touch someone like Nash's run.

The credit CP gets for taking a team that was already making a strong turn upwards is shading Book, Bridges, CamJo and Ayton’s collective progression. Chuck Chowder is overlooked here too.

I know I know … nba finals, our best record…blah blah. Both with reasonable taints. CP was an important piece, but that squad had enough talent to make the playoffs, and who knows, given the injury voodoo curse we had on our side????

CP grabbed onto coat tails as much as the reigns.
Thats why he came here

His time here will forever be tainted by the slaughters and back door sweep where he was ineffective. NBA history is written with the playoff pen.

CP is our own General Custer, with two little big horns under his belt

PS… come on Weak… do you forget the demon KJ was ??? We got his best yrs here, where as CP gave us his final ones

Even though what we're talking about is unknowable i.e. where the Suns would've ended up without CP3 - respectfully the man has a whole resume of improving franchises and by a WIDE MARGIN.

In fact he's the first player ever to set franchise records for wins on four different squads. He also took that young dog sh- '19/'20 Thunder team to the 5th seed in the WC playoffs. The Suns knew all that hence the decision to bring him in in the first place regardless of the supposed development of their young talent.

Had he not been a major party to the above and everything else mentioned in that article your argument would carry more weight. That being said the flipside of that coin is he also bares a large responsibility for their playoff exits. Each was basically marred by a Chris Paul injury.

Good for Saric but he’s still not a good NBA player. He hurt my eyes watching him stumble and bumble through every single play.

So Yuta & KBD would have have to pick up their PO’s the season after next? I’d imagine at least one of them, if not both will have quite a market next summer after playing with this team. Camara being a legitimate 7-8th rotational player by 24-25’ would be big.

Suns basically signed a few players they hope will turn into Bruce Browns(who was signed for around 2M, but now got a lot more from another team). Not sure you want those players pick their options as that means they sucked. Ideally you find other good players to replace them, players willing to play for the min and increase their value greatly on a contender. I wouldn't worry about anything past this season.

Good for him. I really disliked his time with the Suns though. He was so up and down (even before his injury). He’s worth a roster spot in the league though.

The Phoenix Suns are frontrunners to sign free agent Bol Bol, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. Rival teams are expecting Bol to sign in near future with the Suns, who have deepened their roster this offseason.
