Virtually everyone matches an offer sheet & it would be bigger news if the Sixers didn’t

You don't know the Sixers very well lol. This is not beyond them.

This will be a very interesting decision.

Paul Reed played 10.9 mpg with us last year. At first glance, it would seem preposterous to match a multiyear $7.6m annual contract for him. Unless Nick Nurse plans on playing him in a 20+ mpg role.

I swear to god if they let a man whose first name is literally Basketball go.....

Thank god the Phillies are good and the Eagles will likely be very good.
They say an analytics man doesn't have a heart, but I ran the numbers and nothing can be further from the truth - Sam Hinkie probably

If they want Embiid healthy in the playoffs his backup should be playing 16-18 mpg in reserve, plus start 10-12 games a year.

Seems like Morey would rather have Harrell (offense) and Bamba (defense) fill those minutes over Reed, unfortunately.

Nick Nurse ain't playin' no Montrezl Harrell. He's bench decoration.

Copying Heat culture, TRez is our Udonis, even plays like he is 40 at the age of 29. His only roles should be towel waver, victory cigar and occasionally being put in as an enforcer when guys are diving at Embiid’s legs.

If it was up to me I would certainly match it. Reed can be a solid piece under Nurse

Niang, Milton, McDaniels leaving.
Beverley, Bamba, Harrell signing.

The evidence thus far points to Morey not wanting any money on the books beyond 1 year.

If matched Reed essentially has a no trade clause for a year, but if there is some big plan for next summer that would be a valuable potential trade piece and salary then for a team sadly low on mid range salaries.

Morey just pay the man and watch him flourish under Nurse.

Hence why he isn’t committing to
Harden either. The only thing is outside of Siakam who will be an above average prospect there really isn’t big game hunting free agent out there. Murray just re-upped in Atlanta..

Morey might be looking at 2025

I don’t know if I’d match tbh. Reed is fun but he’s probably one of the dumbest guys in the NBA. I have serious doubts he can ever become a reliable system player. If you match you better be prepared to pump his value this season in the event you need to get off his contract.

If that was the case Embiid’s trade request would already be in the news.

I’d *prob* match it from a Sixer standpoint, but in the end I’m glad Reed got his bag. He has definitely outperformed his draft selection and is very easy to cheer for.

Keldon is about to be redundant with Branham and Vassell. Wiggins can’t really be in the Warriors longterm plans and they need to shed salary soon.

Feels more like wishful thinking. I have a hard time seeing either of those teams having any interest. Even if the Spurs prefer Branham/Vassell, why trade a good young wing on a good contract for an expiring Tobias? The Warriors addressed their cap with the CP3 deal and got Draymond on a reasonable contract, so I don't see them looking to get off Wiggins.

The whole point of a great front office is to target and attain guys like Keldon Johnson BEFORE they break out. Now it's too late and you'll have to pay through the nose for him in trade.

Who are those guys?

Let me be clear: I do not want Keldon. But has he broken out? From a ppg standpoint I suppose so, but he’s like a Tobi in that he’s the guy who rose to the occasion and took on the scoring load. Mediocre FT shooter, bad 3pt shooter, bad defender. If I’m the Spurs, I’m not sure I want him to monopolize the scoring moving forward. So do you just phase him out with other players or trade him now for better fitting pieces?

Milton no longer wanted to be in Philly and Niang is 30 years old with no clear path a playoff rotation spot getting paid $8M/year. McDaniels is definitely a stranger situation but they must’ve been unimpressed with his play & potential if they let him walk for so little.

There is a much more obvious rationale for keeping Reed who is 24, has demonstrated success in the playoffs, and he’s a good defensive option to throw at Giannis. You all could be right about Morey & keeping future cap space protected so we’ll see.

McDaniels and Reed were the keepers in our FA class and with McDaniels signing with Toronto for even less than Reed those were two easy keepers.

Adam Silver is a mess. After Dame takes a two year extension, he wants to force his way to one team. Harden opts-in and tries to force his way to one team.

Goodwin saying he wants Portland to have meaningful talks with Miami is funny. Translation: We want our way because Dame is getting really mad so we want you to take whatever Miami offers so Dame can stop being mad.

On draft night, Rich Paul is calling teams telling them not to draft his client. Goodwin is calling teams telling them not to trade for his client. Adam Silver has left this league with no integrity, and helps funnel players to destination teams by allowing this nonsense. If players want to go to a specific team, don’t sign an extension or opt-in. If I’m Portland, I’m not trading him to Miami under any circumstance. Miami created this situation that is causing them to get nothing in return, if Portland caves-in to that strategy, they deserve the slop they get back.
