Not being able to hit the rim on completely uncontested shots and getting blocked by the rim on layups were not what I expected from the best prospect since Abdul-Jabbar.

I am confident he’ll be good in the NBA but his struggles shooting the ball overseas carried over tonight and people have just kind of blindly assumed he’s a great shooter for whatever reason.

Fortunately for him he was still incredible in France despite the lackluster jumper and he probably will be very good here despite it too. And if god forbid he ever becomes a knockdown shooter he could be incredible.

Saric to the Warriors is a great move. It’s also interesting to me because supposedly Miami had a bunch of decent free agents lined up for the veteran minimum (Saric was one, Beasley was another) but told them all to wait until after the Lillard trade. Maybe they’re getting tired of waiting…

While international players are saving the NBA , domestic superstars are all in on teaming up and demanding trades. You really need to respect Steph Curry more... what a legend

Ainge doing a masterclass on Morey by having B-Ball Paul’s RFA offer sheet require years 2 and 3 to be guaranteed, IF the team he’s playing on this season makes the conference semi’s. Sixers would need to bow out in round one for that money not to be guaranteed. Jazz probably don’t make round two.

Was the "Aka BBALL Paul" really necessary?

Sorry, Basketball Paul is one of the best nicknames a basketball player could have in the 2020s. It sounds like Kurtis Blow made it up!

Good signing for the Jazz, makes a lot of sense with Lauri.

Ainge just found another loophole and sonned Morey. Reed would basically have a ntc as he would have the right of refusal on any trade that first season too.

I don't mind Morey getting the short end of the stick but it's getting ridiculous with Ainge just collecting assets for future trades. No way do I believe Reed and/or Collins are long term fixtures in Utah especially after drafting Hendricks. I really hope he lets go his grasp on Sexton.

If the Sixers don't match and Reed goes to the Jazz, I wonder if that makes Olynyk expendable -- maybe Bobby to a 3rd team for some draft assets, Olynyk and Sexton to the Bucks? Could see Dallas, OKC, Memphis, and New Orleans all having interest but maybe they'd prefer Olynyk themselves.

Word is Philly *might* match but Ainge has made it as painful as possible.

Regardless of the Reed situation, collecting too many player assets can actually be detrimental to morale when there aren't enough minutes to go around. Utah has too many frontcourt players and too many SG/combo guards to feed. There's absolutely no minutes for their 3 FRP's. Something has to give at some point with them.

What if Giannis wanted out but demanded it be to one team who was only willing to give you some combination of Tyler Herro, the corpse of Kyle Lowry, Duncan Robinson, and a bunch of late firsts/garbage swaps? Then you asked for Martin and their last two draftees and they said no while Giannis’ agent tightened the screws by saying he would be unhappy anywhere else to strip you of the leverage to actually get the three semi-useful assets that you would want in the deal?

Because I get the vibe the Heat don’t want to give up anything besides picks and some combo of Herro/Robinson/Lowry and are trying to leverage Dame refusing to go anywhere else.

Honestly would not care. Especially when the alternative would’ve been him just walking and getting nothing in return. It’s not like that return is Marcus Morris, Batum and some seconds.

Portland drafted Dame’s replacement 3rd overall this year. They already shot themselves in the foot.

Insane take. Nothing is okay about him pouting his way to one team.

**** Jae Crowder did it last year…

I think it’s time to waive the white flag when guys of Jae’s caliber are forcing moves to particular teams.

And again, look at what Portland has done. Are they trying to assemble a 5 guard lineup? That’s where they continuously invest their assets. Dame is the only thing keeping them from Charlotte levels of incompetence.

I believe that makes 21 second round picks for OKC in the next 7 drafts?
