You guys who downgraded Amen for playing against poor competition are going to look hella foolish. His size, athleticism & playmaking was always going to translate no matter who he was going up against. Those lefty finishes at the rim on the right side of the basket were absolutely filthy. Kid's got star written all over him.

World of difference in DET's offensive flow between Ausar Thompsons decision making/passing and whatever Jaden Ivey is doing this afternoon

He's feeling like that 6th man combo guard type like a poole. He's better than he showed today as he's not a primary point guard you want running a offense but you also can't really trust that jumper as a 2 guard.

They clearly wanted him to run a offense in a bunch of chaos and he failed but he absolutely could of attacked the rim with reckless abandonment if he wanted too in this competition.

that was my problem with him as a prospect, not enough juice as a playmaker to be a primary or even secondary playmaker, and not enough juice as a shooter/off-dribble scorer to be a legit 2 guard...he's essentially a downhill one trick pony guy at this point with an elite first step and quickness but that's about it.

ever go back and think to yourself, how the hell did I ever like/think highly of a prospect?

Johnny Davis is that dude...not sure what I was thinking with this one, combo guard without any discernable skills or tools for either position at this point, looks like a complete mediocre athlete out there too, crappy archetype...I gotta reassess why/how I liked this dude and make sure it never happens again

always happens in crappy classes when you're trying to come up with players to fill that lotto range but still...gotta do better.

I never really liked him. Even in college it felt like he never seen a touch he didn't want to shoot. Almost like it was impossible not to avg what he did with as much as he would shoot.

For whatever reason though I thought Springer was gonna be really good.

I knew the Jazz had themselves a good draft. Hendricks is gonna be a stud as well.

Where did you have George on your board? Felt like you had him pretty high. I was high on him early on and lost track of him.

Edit: I found it 4th 8-)

Summer League is essentially what did you do in the first half of your first game. That is when 90% try to validate their opinions on a player. Scoot is a great example.

He started 4/4 and people blew their load. Then proceeded to shoot 1/9 the rest of the game for a grand total of 38.5% and was outplayed by the guy drafted directly after him. Didn't really matter tho because he hit his first few jumpers and narrative was already set.

Miller is shooting 45.5% from 2, 37% from 2, shot 14 fta in 3 games, had a 7 assist game and another game 11 rebounds. Also, games of 18 and 16 pts.

That is a lot of positives compared to the negatives of him fouling a lot in 1 game and him only shooting 4 shots in one of the games.

Guess which one most of twitter would rather focus on.

Probably the guy who looks like he can create his own shot and separation at will smoothly. He also looked in control generating offense for others.

They both look pretty good though

Oh I wasn't comparing Scoot and Miller per se... I was saying which of things for Miller is twitter buzzing about... his 7 good things or the 2 negatives.

I think Scoot looked good too, just saying if he started 1/9 and then made his next 4 shots to finish 5/13 the narrative would be he was bad even tho at the end of the game it was the same stat line.

I was going to post this in the Keyonte George thread, but perhaps a guy like him should have went pro last year instead of wasting a year in college. He looks like a totally different player now that he can just focus on basketball. Basically, the player I saw last summer.

I didn't like them in college, but I was trying to understand what the thinking was when it came to Keon Johnson and Jaden Springer. Where was the basketball skill with those guys?

My bugaboo was Jarrett Culver. He's not even an Evan Turner. Can't shoot, can't score, can't playmake, can't defend. I would have never guessed on the last two.

Just another guy out there. Perhaps, once he lost confidence that NBA guys were just so much better than him, that was all she wrote.

Never really got the Johnny Davis hype.
