Summer league stats mean nothing, his stroke looks way smoother, and he looked more decisive in those highlights. Has added some strength as well. Promising sign. Hopefully he can build off of that.

What are you talking about, we are constantly allowed to jump on then want to trade him for JJ Redick a week later.

That said, choo choo!

I'm not sure i agree with that. He still has a super low release point and has a pretty slow release. There was a reason he was blocked several times. There is a lot to like about Marion's development but his shot still worries me a ton

Release point is ok, the speed can be lethargic. Im thinking more confidence to let it rip without hesitation will help in that department.

Agree to disagree, I think there are atleast a couple mechanical tweaks that need to be made before I think he could be a plus shooter. And that's before we even get to just the actual results which haven't been good

He's an impossible guy to evaluate in Summer League because his role is gonna be so much different with the starters. Putting the ball in his hands and asking him to create is always gonna look rough. His handle is still pretty loose which is ultimately what caps his offensive potential as a 3&D guy, and he still needs to figure out how to fight through screens better, but everything else is there. The man defense, the finishing, the shooting mechanics.

I disagree. I think his role could slowly grow into taking the ball from Jrue

Marjon has terrible handles he will be a turnover machine in the NBA. Just watch Gort dribble to see tight handles

Handle and strength definitely improved. His footwork is rough and he's going to get a lot of unnecessary traveling calls on the catch and attacking closeouts. Drill, baby, drill.

So my wife had a dream last night with Marjon in it. She went into some kind of bridal store because she had to use the bathroom, but then she felt bad about just using the bathroom so she wanted to buy something. Marjon was a salesman at the store, encouraging her to buy this one dress. He was really nice, and she felt even worse not buy this dress, but she was thinking I'm not getting married, I don't need a dress. She ended up buying it. No insight into his handles or his lateral quickness, just amazing that he was in her dream :).

Was always intrigued by the Marjon and had no issue with the draft pick. Right now after 2 good summer league halfs. I say trade him for whatever you can. He won't be able to defend at this level and he has no right hand.

Choosing to believe Horst was incensed by how little Bud invested in MarJon's development and that's part of the enthusiasm for Griffin.

Giannis by all reports likes Beauchamp too.

Sure the vast likelihood is MarJon will be more like a David Noel than Ron Artest. But daring to dream until that bears out.

Saying he can’t defend at this level is quite the take lol

I don't actually understand this. It was reported that everyone wanted to basically go all out for the 1 seed. How were we supposed to both go all out for the top seed but also give developmental minutes to MarJon?

Lot more developmental minutes could have been offered if only in the December and January kind of doldrums months of the season.

Also I’m skeptical playing Jordan Nwora instead of MarJon helped us get the 1 seed.

For the most part he was getting double digit minutes most games through mid January and then fell off, typically between 15 & 25 minutes. So it sort of seems like Bud did exactly that.
