Yelling "gimme dat ****" after the block and the no hesitation pull up from 3 after a hand off was all I needed to see, this kid will be a beast

Now that Jayson Tatum is all grown up, Walsh will take up the mantle of being "only 19" every year and already awesome. Not a coincidence that he shares a birthday with JT.

I don't think anyone would say one game makes for a Lock. But J Walsh being only 19 and already showing major signs of answering questions about his shooting and improvements (shot "50% first workout for Boston" then "74% in the same drill a month later in workout #2") leads me to believe he is a "worker" and is fully aware that he needs to improve that area. Combine that with Stevens who has already signed him to a 4 year contract shows the confidence Stevens has in the 19 year old.

With game #1 included it is really hard for me to believe that anything but success will happen for this kid.

Walsh already has a real roster spot.

Also, I wouldn't necessarily agree that looking good in summer league means nothing. I don't think we should get carried away or read too deeply in summer league performances - but they do at least mean something, imo.

Swing and a miss? Jeez, you'e awfully abrasive. I wasn't swinging anything - just clarifying something in your post.

And this is the Jordan Walsh thread, so I assumed you were talking about him.

It's kind of silly imo to discuss whether or not he's worth a contract, after he's already signed one (especially a contract that pays less than $2 mil a year). Even more weird to question whether he's worth that contract, after he just dropped 18 points on high efficiency with solid defense in his first ever pro game. But to each his own..

Nah, looking good at Summer League doesn't mean much (and I'm pretty excited about Walsh). Looking bad in summer league means something, it means you probably won't be in the NBA but all looking good means in landing in the NBA can't be ruled out.

****, with the way Wemby looked in game 1 I'll go back and say looking bad in summer league doesn't mean much either.

he's gangly af and his handle needs a lot of work. But he's a better prospect than Grant and will be his replacement so I'm happy we got him. Give him a couple of seasons to develop and we likely have a #4 or #5 starter. Who knows, maybe more if he has the work ethic. You can't teach his length and defensive instincts.
