I was waiting to see a B-Ball Paul Appreciation thread here but fortunately there is none. The decision by Morey to match though coming at literally the 11th hour was his best this offseason thus far.

Hopefully this means Reed will be playing a lot more at the 4 spot.

Never said you couldn't be excited. It's the fact that this is what Sixers fans need to cling to, to be excited is what's sad. And by sad, not from a fan's perspective, but from the team's perspective. That they haven't given the fans one single morsel of anything else to be excited about.

Now he should start at PF next to Jo. Slide Tobi to SF and Tucker to the bench or out of town with Harden.

I would like Louis King on a partially guaranteed NBA deal then a veteran wing to round out the roster barring any trades. With three two way spots it is all the more reason teams will go with 14 man rosters if they are in tax territory. More guys to call up if the bench gets short with a raft of injuries and roster flexibility in trades down the line.

We have 13 players already. I assume if no big Harden trade then King signs as #14.

If we do a Harden trade we prob get more players back then we trade away. So maybe no room on the roster in that case.

I made this same damned point an hour before Woj. I say he reads these boards.
(Although I was wrong about Ainge having been the Jazz GM, was just reacting to other people's comments that seemed to state that. This was definitely personal.)

To anyone who only thinks that Ainge is a skunk, rather than Morey as well, it occurred to me that Ainge might have it out for Morey because of things in Morey’s past. I remember vividly something that didn’t happen to Ainge, but it makes me wonder whether something like it ever has.

It happened this time of year in 2012 when Bulls fans were stunned and aggrieved to learn of how Morey had circumvented the Gilbert Arenas rule and signed the Bulls’ highly esteemed backup C, Omer Asik, to a 3 year offer sheet. Poison pill in year 3. The Bulls didn’t match. If you’re interested, skip past the first few paragraphs making fun of Morey and jump to the stuff about the contract.

I’m just glad for now that Morey made sure not to let himself get what might have been just desserts, but at Philly fans’ expense.

Guesses for our remaining moves? I think we land Lavine in a three team trade sending Harden to LAC. Tobias is the wild card to me. Lots of trade that theoretically work but not a ton of noise about a deal. I could definitely see him living out his deal here.

If you have a plan, even if it's not great, then stick to the plan. This is clearly a deviation.

Now they have to pivot yet again. Making a bad plan even worse.

Just frigging trade Jo already, fire the entire FO, and rebuild. They have their pick this year and the future picks are like top 6 protected.
