All that was said was he looked the most polished player on the court. He looked like he belonged.

Seeing as he’s basically 24, you would hope so lol.

He’s going to be great for the G League team. Bring much needed structure that the team has been missing since the tampa year.

Well newsflash, there is utility and use for rookies who are closer to being nba ready. And 24 isnt old. So the point still stands .. no one was anointing this guy as the next isiah Thomas

I wouldn't fixate on that too much, it has a lot to do with the team you play on and the type of shots you take.

For the love of god. It is hilarious that ppl don't understand the relative importance of FG% for point guards.

Nowell was, by far, the best point guard of the college tournament.

The point guard position always has the lowest FG%.

This shouldn't require explanation on a basketball forum.

Yea Steph Curry shooting almost 50FG% 42 3P% and 90% FT this year doesn't matter. Not important at all, would be better if he shot 34% from 3 this season like VV.

You heard mdenny, FG% doesn't matter for point guards, even when they are 1st, 2nd or 3rd on your team in FGA/g. Move along!!!

24 is old for an NBA prospect lol.

Ridiculous to say otherwise.

Ok so you agree he looked the most polished (expected given his age) on the court. So you share the same opinion! Nothing to discuss move on. Go back to citing examples of player xyz having a great summer league game as as proof masai is an idiot.

All piint guards combined in a typical nba season shoot around 43% fg%.

Giving up on a college point guard because he shot 39% is ludicrous for anyone who knows an iota about basketball. He WAS THE BEST POINT GUARD IN THE TOURNAMENT. Point guards are not evaluated by fg% but again...saying this out loud only reveals the ridiculous nature of the dialogue.

Y'know since we're talking about stuff we are clueless about.....did anyone consider playing Dwight Howard at the point guard? I mean....look how high his fg% was.

I like him. He’s got a Russell Wilson vibe about him. Being short, he makes up for it with unique passing and quickness.

He couldn't even shoot over 38% from the field in college. He not making the team, this is just some fodder for summer league.

Pretty sure they keep him for the 905 minimum. They just walked away from Banton so...

Except he's 5'7, just very hard to get shots up with that height in the NBA. Hope he does well, I just don't have many expectations. I think him making the 905 roster would be a success for him.

That's why he takes them further out often. His height means taking 3s 3 feet past the line.

But rejectedbyclark just told me height and length doesn't matter in the NBA, so there's that.

Don't like him. He's too short. Sure he may work sometimes in isolated situations, but why work against the grain? There are plenty of guards in the d-league who can do what he does and more.

A lot of you guys don't get it. His work ethics can sets the new culture and standards. We don't need him to develop into a starter or even a back-up.

It's not always about who's next, it's also about who's got the right mindset.

At the right price, he's good to have.

In two games he's already made better passes than anyone on the team last year.

Do I think Masai is an idiot for not valuing the guard position in today's NBA ? You bet your ass lol. I don't need Nowell to tell me that. We have the worst guard rotation in the league and it's been that way for several years now.

This.

Regardless of height, he still pulls in the defense on his drives. That gravity will help if he continues to make creative plays off the dribble.

I’m cool if he scores 8 ppg on drives but makes the other 4 guys better.

It's a good narrative to attract underdog undrafted players and give them a chance. Rebuild that reputation for years to come

Several does not mean seven. Learn the English language lol.

And yes, 24 is old for a rookie. Please don't feign idiocy.
