Agreed. If we get stuck with JB until he decides to move on in a year or so, I give Walsh an outside chance of developing to a more JT-complementary replacement of JB. (Not as a scorer, but as a starter.) He's a bit like DWhite in being heady and D-oriented, despite limited bulk, so they may be more complementary as a starter and a sub, however.

Now we’re getting ahead of our skis on this guy’s potential. He’s made the roster: awesome. Next step: get some RS minutes. Aspiration for this year or more likely next: make the rotation. By year two or three: clearly have an NBA career, but be ready to re-up long term in Boston on the cheap

So here’s something to actually discuss though:
Predict games played, MPG, and 3pt fg% for Jordan Walsh this season.

I’ll say 44/7/32%

What do you got?

He made all 5 of these plays in the same game and he's only 19..and he was playing this game with a knee injury (injured the knee on 2nd play of the game)

Through 2 games he's shooting 42% from 3 on 6 attempts per game, despite 2 of the misses being desperation heaves at the end of the shot clock..

18 games, <250 total minutes, 24%. But he will get some shots up lol. Sticking by my Khris Middleton-lite long term projection though 8-)

It's tough. For what they likely would be looking for from him, Banton is probably first in line. If Brissett gets injured or mid-season traded, that might be his clearer path for PT this year with some PF defensive tasking.

EDIT: Not signing Javonte Green also helps his chances.

I think Banton, Brissett and Walsh will all have to earn every minute that they get. I'd say outside of our clear cut top 7 guys, all the spots and all the minutes are up for grabs, with Hauser being the favorite to be the 8th man and first wing off the bench..

C’mon y’all step up and put some #s down so we can forget to revisit this later and see whose wild ass guess came closest.

18.8-13.5-1.6
Just took Wilt's rookie season numbers and divided in 2 to reflect that he's only playing 24 minutes a game not 48.

I'm going 52 games, 8.2 minutes, 32.8% from 3.

It'll take Joe a while to play him as much as he should which affects the minutes and the 3%.
After ASB, it'll normalize to ~12mpg, 34% from 3.

EDIT: I know that's probably high... but if he doesn't hit those marks, I just blame Joe. Or Brissett is an all-star. One of the two.

I like Walsh a lot for this team. In time he will be a good player. Will be an excellent defender. Needs to develop his shot. So far it looks decent.
To his defense he played with two guys that took the majority of the shots in college. So he will at least know how to impact the game without having the ball often.

Side note. I liked Bates pre draft. I know he’s had some issues, but in the second round those are the type of high upside guys to consider. So far he looks excellent.

58 games, 12 mpg, 33%
This means we have at least 58 blowout games before the start of the 4th quarter (I don't know if all of these will be in our favor though...), so lots of garbage time

Walsh is playing hard to win summer league games, this guy gets it.

Yup. That's the biggest thing with Walsh that I have noticed from watching him over the past 12 months. He plays hard, all the time - high motor, and he really cares, he really gives a sh&t about the game, about winning.

Paul Biancardi, the lead analyst for the broadcasts when ESPN carries big HS basketball games would often comment during game broadcasts about Walsh's motor and how he plays harder than anyone else.

Some players play hard, some play with passion, Walsh plays with hunger - like he wants to devour the court and everyone on it. That level of ferocity is not easy to sustain. Let's hope he can.

Anybody else get Stacey Augmon vibes from Walsh?
