Oh hey I’m not the one throwing triple Ks around here bro. Anyways you don’t even have a clue what his real issues are so just quit while you are behind.

Imagine being internet defense force for a hateful and childish billionaire who doesn't give a crap about you at all. talk about being behind

Such an MSNBC masturbator caricature of Twitter. Do you even use the site? There's been zero uptick in "Nazi" activity, the only change is that it's more boring now. You can be liberal without rubbing yourself off to exaggerated threats because you want to pretend you're internet Indiana Jones

So my casual opinion on a topic that doesn't even belong here...

Not going to pretend Elon has the purest intentions. But on the surface, Twitter doesn't seem to lend itself to advertising the way other social media platforms do. I get sucked into ads all the time on IG and facebook, not twitter. And it is a business. It doesn't seem strange to me that this social media platform that everyone is using for their enjoyment, to spread their brand, to consume news would charge subscription fees. People pay for news channels through their cable or streaming bills. Newspapers charge subscription costs for online ads.

Feels like everyone jumped on the "Elon BAD!" bandwagon over the blue check thing and never stopped to consider that it's a pretty fair ask from a business standpoint. The same sports writers who charge a subscription on "The Athletic" will tweet about Elon is killing media lol

Go on any page on twitter and take a look at what the hordes of blue checkmarks are saying. It's all hate. Racism, misogyny, transphobia, it runs the gamut and that is the kind of content Twitter is actively pushing on people these days. Even elon himself is participating.

Hey, if you're comfortable with that kind of atmosphere, more power to you. But I'm not and neither is anyone who supports treating other human beings with dignity regardless of their racial/gender/sexual minority status.

My Twitter experience is at neither of your extremes. That said, the use case for Twitter for fun conversations, largely in my professional circles, is largely over. This was mainly true even pre-Musk, but I think his reign has sealed the deal. Ditto the new and usually fleeting relationships with people I'd never have talked with otherwise, such as porn stars, Levar Burton, or the 16-year old Egyptian girl who asked my opinion whether she should go to the protest at Tahrir Square.

Is this the Twitter club or can we talk about our biggest signing of the offseason?

This is objectively false. There are literal Nazis with literal Nazi references in their usernames posting Nazi stuff, with no repercussions. Who knew firing the bulk of the people monitoring for TOS violations could result in unchecked TOS violations.

Meanwhile why am I seeing David “The wrongness of my views on every subject is matched only by the confidence with which I vomit them out” Sacks everywhere? They messed with the algorithm to feature Musk and his blue-checked cronies.

Musk challenged Zuckerberg to a literal d-measuring contest today. The notion that his “leadership” hasn’t affected the site in a material way is laughable. I don’t watch MSNBC. It’s my observation that Twitter is very different. (Maybe you were already following catturd2?)

You think people are leaving because it’s boring? Jesus dude.

Nice.

Read on Twitter
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

I’d think… it’s the opposite?

Why does the Twitter algo think you’re Nazis and I’m not
