I am confused, are we more concerned about bad teams being bad and playing the lottery or good teams manipulating their line up to be bad to secure better lottery odds for their pick?

I hated seeing an Embiid, Butler or any other star who has sat out their teams games in the past six seasons sit out games so a team can intentionally lose

Going into the year, very few teams actually think that they can win a championship in the NBA. But they never sit out their stars for chunks of the season. wasn't that was why there was a 3 strike system? No way someone could accumulate 3 strikes in a week or two window.

The only people facing the most impactful punishment aren't going to be the people in the last couple weeks that throw in the towel. Its the people 20 games in doing that.

They likely didn’t find it appealing how the strikes stuck with you across more than one season. But in that case you vote to pass the rule and then simplify amend it. Not do nothing at all and keep the status quo.

For me, I would rather see a violation like this effect a teams free agent ranking. Maybe weight the "player happiness" ranking more for teams that tank or give to many load management days. A team that sits its stars should be hurt on the FA market, not by changing the contracts that are already on the books. Maybe drop a team that violates this rule a tier or two on the market for x number of years or some other way to make it hurt to tank.

The quoted I agree with. In addition to scrapping the youth/draft pick category in the FA rankings as Mph mentioned. When and if the rule is revised in such a way, I will vote “for”.

Not really, closest thing is the power rankings. Could do teams preseason ratings compared to the final rankings to see which team outperformed their expectations. Of course, the way players move in this league not sure that would be a true representation.

I'm not concerned at all about bad teams being bad. Every league has bad teams and I have no issue with a GM who has built a bad team. My issue personally is with teams who could be decent who choose to be bad at the expense of their players/fans etc.

And for TC, lol...that is not a shot fired at AFB, Richard or any of the other 10+ GMs who have sat good players or manipulated their lineup over the years. There is nothing in place so teams are free to do what they want to do until enough people choose to do something about it.

Teams with cap space:

Dillon Brooks- $100/1 year (expiring) is available.

All NBA Defensive Team irl in 2023, and averaged 14.3 PTS, albeit inefficiently.

He’ll prolly have one of the highest DEF ratings of all wings in BaF due to the All Defensive Team accolade.

If you strike out in free agency and need a strong defensive wing with enough versatility capable of guarding the SG/SF/PF positions, on a contract that will allow you to have the cap flex to re-enter the market next offseason, PM me.
