It would seem that Myles Turner is trying to grow his brand a bit.

Him wanting to grow his brand or him simply being into fashion (as evidenced by him attending fashion week in Milan) are both legit arguments. They are also a far, far cry from the "he really wants the attention" argument that was first posited, though. That argument is rather weak.

It is exactly the same thing. Him wanting to grow his brand and wanting to stand out with his fashion are 100% him wanting attention. There is nothing wrong with it but to act like it isn't the truth is just stupid.

Nah, man. I heavily, heavily disagree.

Doing it to grow his brand makes it a business move. It's about making a living and having further career opportunities in your post-basketball future, not about the attention.

Doing it because he loves fashion makes it a "I do it because I want to" move. It's akin to a musician playing a live show.

I'm not saying that there's absolutely 0% chance that it was done for the attention, I'm just saying that immediately assuming that it's done for this reason is a very lazy argument. There's no reason to default to that argument other than laziness, imo.

This is becoming an argument about semantics. He needs the attention to further that part of his career.

As for the musician, he could play in his basement, but he chooses to play at a live show to get attention... and make money.

Myles Turner is posing for fashion photo shoots and wearing certain outfits for attention, so he can ........

Your clothes, jewelry, style

From Slang.com
Drip is a slang term that refers to a person's sense of style that is considered sexy or cool. It is a variation of "Swag" and was made popular by hip-hop culture.

Drip gained mainstream popularity in 2018 as its use in Rap/Hip-hop songs spread to listeners who adopted the term as a way to describe a person's, often a guy's, impressive appearance. Typically, the term refers to fashion, like clothes and shoes, but it may also refer to how one carries himself. It is commonly used online, especially on social sites like Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.

I'm more perplexed by Harrison Barnes working as security to Turner.

If that's the case then we could say that every single thing that any person does is for the attention.

He could be playing basketball in his backyard but he chooses to play in the NBA to get attention... and make money.

He could be cooking this meal in his home but he cooks in this restaurant to get attention... and make money.

He could be painting just for himself but he decides to showcase his paintings in a gallery to get attention... and make money.

We could be making this argument for every profession out there, especially the professions that are associated with arts, entertainment and sports.

You can make the claim that we're arguing about semantics here but I do believe that there is a significant difference between furthering one's career and just plain attention-seeking. Attention-seeking behavior is when you seek out attention just for the sake of it. It's when that attention is your end goal. When your end goal is something different (furthering your career, pursuing an artistic goal, making a discovery, innovating et cetera) then that attention is just a means to an end, it's not the end goal.

My testicles? Believe me, I've got a whole list of things I'd like to sue them for... This ain't one of them.

The second girl may in fact be hotter... But she dresses like her mom at a church picnic... So it's hard to tell.

To be fair, I was not really arguing with you as much as I was arguing with the poster that was agreeing with you. That said, fair enough
