Not sure if they can still change the terms of the deal or involve other teams/players, but the Grant Williams signing is now official, per his IG.

Last year Smart and Grant played almost exactly 4000 minutes. They added KP who should take around half of that. Imo Hauser and Rob take half of what’s left over (I get Rob is injury prone but he played 35 g/800 mins last year).

So that leaves about 1000 mins left for the PP/Brissett/Blanton etc group, plus whatever gets added from further roster removals. Maybe 1500 or a bit more if one is really bearish on Hauser/Rob.

Or, a big portion of that goes to a new guy if they are going to bring someone in.

I see that post now but I don't think him signing the contract in a photo is official official just yet, the teams gotta announce it first and still haven't

Derrick White may not play all 82 games this season but he's definitely playing more than the 28.3 mpg he had last season. I'm pegging it somewhere between 32 and 34 mpg. About 300-350 additional minutes go to him as Smart's replacement.

I’d assume white gets somewhere between 150-300 extra minutes too depending on health

Brogdon is a baller….and a fabulous PERSON.

I do not want to trade him.

Disappointed we still didn't get Jokic in return even as we traded away this generation's Charles Barkley.

I'm trying to cushion the blow of disappointment. I loved that comeback, lol. Until Brad gets me my Timelord succession plan option, I'm unfortunately going to keep up this shtick.

I hope it’s not a protected pick that doesn’t convey.

Yup good points on that. I guess my main point is they’re a tad thinner than last year but also if they bring in a guy now they don’t have a huge role. So depending on who goes out you can kind of plug and play how many more minutes become available.

Looking at the minutes total is a second look that can be better than mpg imo.

10 years ago today, the Celtics officially traded a Celtics legend and icon in Paul Pierce for the Nets unprotected picks and pick swap. Today, another Celtics legend and icon in Grant Williams is traded to the Mavs for unprotected picks and a pick swap. Hoping those picks turn into the next JT and JB. *crosses fingers*

Time Lord is only 25 and has 3 years left on his contract. You might be waiting for awhile :)

And even then, the replacement might be a proven vet, rather than an unproven development project..

Its not the Spurs actual 2nd round pick, its the better of CHI/NOL 2024 2nd rounders via the Spurs.

Return to Boston Celtics
