Walsh is a demon defensively but how long he stays in the league will be determined by how many threes he can hit

Yep, Walsh and Balcerowski are the only two SL players I can see getting some minutes with the main team. With Banton the jury is still out.

I'd agree with that. Banton, this was only his first game so hard to draw too much of a conclusion yet on him. He's definitely intriguing, but the shooting (and finishing near the rim) needs work. His defense is pretty good but could also use some fine tuning as well. He's got potential, but at this point (until he shows more) I'd say he is just and end of the bench 13th-15th type of guy..
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

Wow, talk about a tale of two halves. That first half was about as ugly as it can get - and then BOOM, the youngin's came alive in the second half!
I have a feeling that Walsh is going to give us some amazing games - and some pretty ugly ones to for the first couple of seasons. He plays with everything he's got, and isn't afraid to sacrifice his body for the play. He also seems like he's going to shoot the ball no matter what - hmm, who does this remind me of???? I think we might have found Smart's Folliclely challenged replacement.
I really hope they give Scrubb a chance to play on the big team. He looks like he could give the team 5 - 10 really solid minutes on any given night.

I liked the Walsh pick mostly because of the length/athleticism and defense, but he's not as hopeless on offense as I thought he'd be. Seems to have a good feel for where to be, how to move to open spaces, ect. A kind of connective player on offense. Its going to be interesting to see if he can get some rotation minutes this year.

I am buying up all the space on Walsh Island I can get. It's nice to have a young guy with a little upside to root for.

Hopefully he has a REALLY good game or two this year and we can bring back the "he's only 19!" thing (he has the same birthday, March 3rd, as Tatum).

Balcerowski is fundamentally sound, and he's a better rebounder and defender than Kornet. But he's not going to leave the Spanish league for a two-way.

Good win.

After a decent 1st half, Walsh took over the game in the 3rd quarter, on both ends of the floor. I loved the passion he was playing with. Not just his energy, but the passion to win.

Scrubb had a really good 1st half to keep us in the game. Then he made two nice passes for assists in the final minutes of the game to close it out.

Through 3 games, Walsh and Scrub have been our best players.

Ya I get why they signed him tho, has an interesting potential skill set as a bigger guy with passing skill. Giving him a 1 year with a team option gives them some team control.

He probably doesn't amount to much, but I'm generally fine with giving end of bench spots to younger guys and see if you catch lightning in a bottle.

Walsh is a keeper but we knew that
JD is fine on a two-way
Banton looks like a somewhat-better-than-average Summer League prospect which isn’t great for a 3 year veteran with an NBA contract. Will give him credit for being rusty and recovering from injury.
Can Azubuike be a two-way or is he too old?
No one else on this roster matters. I mean Champaigne can be the 14th guy on the Celtics but I’d be happy if they found someone better.

Why would you put Tatum and Porzingis in at garbage time? I could understand Walsh in their because he is a rookie.

Walsh was HYPED about getting this win
Which I loved to see
Because I realized “other teams fans are going to HATE this guy”
And it’s good to have a guy or two or seven like that
He — now — can be our first (post Marcus :(

Obviously Walsh needs to keep developing his jump shot but I also like to see Tatum's trainer drew Hanlen work on some of his footwork and ball handling..

Tatum and Walsh have almost identical body types and Athletic ability... I'm not saying he is the next Tatum, But he can be Tatum lite for sure..

I like the way he can extend with long strides and long arms to the rim..

He has decent footwork and some ability to pull mid range shots already..
2 things need to go.. my lack of spell check and Joe..

I think that he can be on a Two-Way? The only thing is, he was a 1st Round Pick. So there might be something to that.
I think that you have to have been a 2nd Rounder, or Undrafted?

My dvr will play every other SL game but not this one right now! :banghead:
I’m getting skunked on my real time Walsh fixes!

Had to watch the other games a few day late, now this one too probably. Sad.

Pretty awesome to have two 19 years olds as good as Walsh and Tatum.

I have a feeling that it won't be long before he's my new favorite Celtic. And best of luck on a quick recovery.
