LeBron is absolutely classless. It does take something away from him.

Thank you for being honest and having common sense lol.

Everyone complaining about this event, just stop tuning in and reading every freaking twitter/instagram post. Jeez, I like watching games and reading insightful discussion. This is just reality TV for half of you. IDC what Lebron does, he's exploiting the lovers and haters for more publicity. Relax people

exactly this. Underneath all of this, the guys a HOOPER. he goes out and gives you a show when hes able to still play. IDK how he finds the motivation to stay in shape like this still at his age. Hes closer to the middle aged men hating on him on realgm than the younger players hes trying to beat rn. its wild. When morant was born, lebron was second in mvp voting. and he just outplayed him.

Yeah most of us were raised to downplay achievements but doesn't mean that's the right way to be. Have you never reflected back on why that's the case?

It's an old way of thinking.

Dude LeBron is an actual narcissist who does all he can to remain in the spotlight, sometimes in totally obnoxious ways like claiming an OBVIOUSLY fake retirement after his series, the Decision etc. You're suggesting this is how the new generation should act?

What do you mean "actual narcissist", is he diagnosed with narcissistic personality disorder?

Problem with your assertion is that he has achieved enormous success and is simply revelling in it. Because of his success is so enormous he appears narcissistic but he's just saying about himself what plenty of others would say and they say it constantly.

On twitter alone there is probably someone calling him the GOAT thousands of time a month.

I mean displaying narcissist tendencies shamelessly to the point that a bunch of his former fans make fun of him for it all the time and talk about how they wish he wasn't like that so they could actually respect him.

Someone calling you the GOAT is something to be proud of. You going on a marketing campaign of telling everyone you're the GOAT when it is at best very arguable is pathetic.

I applaud zimpy.

He was tired or reading in the other thread how pro-LeBron posters were toxic and how they make a subforum unwelcoming and unreadable.

Then he created a thread in the General Board, and let the anti-LeBron shitposting floodgates open.

Quod erat demonstrandum.

Well played, zimpy, well played

this is exactly why I have never liked him and rarely respected him...his game on the floor is outstanding "MOST" of the time (besides flopping, crab dribbles, etc) but overall a truly GREAT player but its the narcissistic behaviors that made him 10000000% unlikable to me...The Chosen One, King James, Taking My Talents to South Beach....etc everything he does is for attention and to "back his claim" to me just let your game do all the talking for you

I think that's more a reflection of conservative cultures people are grown up in that teach them to not celebrate their success or be self-congratulatory. It comes out in this attack on people who freely celebrate themselves and I think it comes from a repressed place. That attitude keeps people down. It's sad, doesn't it make you sad?

Forgot who it was who said it (maybe Ainge), but the comparison to Trump (on a personal, not political level) is EXTREMELY accurate.

They aren't THAT different in how they speak about themselves. The excuses, misdirection, self grandiosity, and lying are all narcissistic characteristics that they both share.

Don't derail the thread with politics please. Might not be your intention but this is how it starts.

Him being all mysterious or coy about playing next year was just a tactic to get attention. He is still trying to chase that guy from the windy city. We got another year of this guy and his narcissism.

Doing that stuff is the complete lack of confidence. It's insecurity. You can call yourself the GOAT and not come off as an insecure weirdo, Muhammad Ali already proved that decades ago. But it takes a certain degree of charm and humor to pull it off and LeBron in comparison to Ali has the personality and wit of a dead frog.

Brady has had even more success in the biggest sport in the country and not once have I ever heard him refer to himself as the “GOAT” or put a pretend crown on his head.

LeBron is just a tool; it’s ok to say.

Gotta give it to the man...

An all-time great basketball player... and brand icon.

He's always working the brand. Nobody has leveraged his PR/marketing team more than LeBron James over the past 20 years. Those cats have been working OT for a long time.

In your close minded universe, I don't believe he cares where he's ranked. He's given more to the game than Jordan ever did.
