An homage to Fred maybe.

Nothing wrong with showing over-confidence - how else could he make it being so short.

That first game showed promise and then that it went to his head? He may still be worth the 2 way

Sucks that he's struggling now. I hope he regains some mojo in the last game.

I wanted to watch a few games before posting my thoughts. Like most fans, I root for the underdog and any player that signs with my team when they have other options.

Through the games I have watched, I have seen multiple times when he has a teammate open, ready for the ball and it seems like Nowell can't see the player or has tunnel vision.

His improvised passing skills are great when he can see a lane. More often than not it seems like he isn't seeing the whole floor.

What surprises me is that even though it is early, unless there is a playcall, he is looking for his own shot first, them Moses Brown, then anything else that is open. I expect more from a floor general.

However he isn't nearly as bad on defense as I thought, but anyone who tries during Summer League looks better than they do in the regular season.

I wanted to be in the Nowell camp but I am not. If we think he is a great system guard at the GLeague level he has to show a greater ability to get the ball to the open man. He is missing obvious advantages. I don't see a player worth a 2way slot here.

I feel the same way about Ron Harper Jr. Neither meet my standards for a 2way slot.

might be okay in the 905 (not on a 2-way) but don't think he's really worth developing.

He has that sparkplug energy where if your team is struggling, his ability to come in, drop dimes and get a couple of easy baskets for teammates could spark a run and get everyone back in the game... but over the course of an entire game I don't see him being the full time point guard.

He can still be a rotation player, and he has a legit nba skill that translates to the next level, but he's probably best in short spurts as a bench player. I'm not gonna say He's not worth developing. His passing is better than most nba point guards. He would probably be the best passer on the raptors if he was called up. He just can't shoot and has tendency to overdribble and he's small. I think he has a role though, it's up to the coaches to get th3 most out of him.

Better to invest in Dowtin I think

I love his vision, but even after the first game, I had some concerns that I'm not sure he'll be able to overcome.

If he was a lights out shooter, I think he'd have a better chance of sticking around...but as a ball dominant pg, he'll have problems creating the angles he needs to get the ball where he wants on passes.

In his first game, he had a lot of his passes blocked or intercepted. And it's gotten worse in the other two games.

I just don't see how he carves out a consistent role with us at the NBA level.

His shooting is what is holding him back as much as his height. He's quick enough to create separation from his defender and get into the lane, but because he can't shoot, defenders can gap him and let him fire away from distance, which nullifies all his skills.

He shot 38% from the field at Kansas St in back to back years. He struggles to score efficiently inside the arc. Unless he becomes a great 3pt shooter and he can hit close to 40% on volume, it's hard to see him becoming anything more than an end of the bench, change of pace type of guy.

lmao yup.

Nowell is getting more of a fringe NBA player after each showing lmao. too much confidence is a bad thing when skills don't align

same FVV energy, but different result.

Thompson closes really quickly and he was only two steps away. I wouldn't say Gradey was wide open. Ausar would have been there for a strong contest at least. Of course, Gradey might have been able to shot fake into a little two dribble pull-up, but I wouldn't consider that wide open.

really short players are predisposed to tunnel vision / chucknitis - if they didn't bet on themselves, they wouldn't be here

That's why they like taller QBs in the NFL.
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.
